He met with Jeter after the game and I'm quite sure he took care of him......
did any of you actually talk to him?

I think some of you guys looking to get the most money might be going about it wrong.
When you want to get the most money for something you sell it to whoever it is worth the most to and has the funds to pay. Depending on what they think will happen to it, the ball is worth the most to the Yankees and they definitely have the funds to make it happen.
Not being a Yankee fan, I would have asked for a million dollars. If they refused to pay that much I would threaten to destroy the ball or worse yet….sell it to a hardcore Red Sox fan.

If that’s true then this kid will probably end up losing money on this.
The media can try and spin this anyone they want, but I think this makes the Yankees organization (and to a lesser extent Jeter) look terrible.
This dumb kid gives them something worth over $500,000 out of the goodness of his heart and they give him $40,000 worth of stuff (most of which he can’t sell). How generous of them.

Well there's nothing he can do about it now so what else can he say?
Let’s see if he’ll feel the same way in a few years when everyone forgets about what he did, he’s $100,000+ in debt and still working as a cell phone salesman. I wonder how many times a day he’ll look at his average (at best) life and think “if had just a little common sense I could be a millionaire.”

That’s what I’m thinking as well. This fat loser probably thought if he just gave Jeter the ball he would end up being Jeter’s friend and he could get some additional money as well.
Unfortunately for this kid, Jeter is a cheap bastard.
However I don’t blame Jeter for not wanting to hang out with this kid and be his friend.

I would have gotten 500 grand for the ball and put it all on a 10 team underdog parlay.

LOL. Thanks for the laugh.

That would involve Jeter NOT being a cheap bastard.
