I collect a lot of vintage baseball cards, but not memorabilia but I can confidently say that if the ball went to auction, it would probably start at a $250,000 reserve, likely command at least $500,000 and could possibly go over $1 million given the significance of the 3,000th hit, that it was a HR, that Jeter went 5-5 including the GW RBI that day and all those rings.

come on straight shooter, sometimes a decision can be made without money being the number one factor, i would bet that the yankees gave him some money along with the season long seats. i thought it was refreshing to see someone do what they believe to be the honorable thing. I would have held onto it and tried to profit from it. But it was a feel good story to me.

how much are those seats per game? 500 or more? lets say 500 2000 X 40 = 80000. thats regulare season, lets say the yanks make the playoffs and go to ALCS. now we are talking over 100K. plus he got to meet Jeter and was treated like a king for a day in the owner&#x27;s suite. if he sold the ball at auction for 250 the auction house gets 20 %. he pays 30-40 % taxes, and we are assuming it sells for 250k . I dont know if he made such a horrible decision .
