Whether it be a certain game. A certain comback. A certain trade, free agent pickup, team etc. I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts. Here's the game I remember the most and consider this the most shocking game of the season.
The Padres can't hit. The Mariners can't hit. Cliff Lee is on the mound. LeBlanc can hold his own at times. They give up a total of 16 runs together and the final score being a 15-8 Mariners win.
3 hits by Milton Bradley...that's a story in itself.
Mike Sweeney had 4 hits and 6 RBIs on 2 homers.
Ichiro only had 1 hit.
Venable and Headley combined for a 1-9 night.
The total for this game was 6.5
So...what is your "most shocking" memory?

Jeter is going to the Hall of Fame. Posada hmmm I don't know about that
Fair. But what's the difference between 1 player doing it and another, regardless of their status? All it does is prove that, if being put in the same situation, you take the base because it's, as Jeter says, "your job".
But lets nip this in the bud. This could be a really good thread to look back on the season.

May 20, when CIN gave up 7 to ATL in the ninth to lose the game
I guess we can throw the Rockies v Cards in there too when they scored 9 runs in the 9th inning to overcome a 9-3 defecit and win 12-9 on the walkoff homer by Seth Smith.
Speaking of the Rockies and Braves. The Braves had a 10-1 lead over the Rockies in the first 3 innings and the Rockies ended up winning 12-10.
Both games were at home...no surprise here.

Hilarious that I got beaten on two of the games mentioned here.
The 7 runs the Braves scored to win..... I had the Reds ML... I remember it was a day game.. and I was out with my girlfriend for lunch and I saw the score... was like wtf.
I took the under 6.5 in the Cliff Lee/Lebanc game... All I can remember is that there was like 8 runs already in the 3rd inning... shut off the game... and never even looked back at the score.

And my biggest shock is pobably that Seattle under 83.5 wins for the year was so easy.
Pretty much broke even cuz I had LAA over 84.5, but I never thought Seattle would suck this bad.
That one hurt me. But I should have realized that Lee wasn't sticking around. Too bad for me though. I had it in before Lee was injured. I was told that Bedard was only going to be out for 2 months. But it wasn't just the pitching...that offense is dreadful. I was dead on this one early and had this as an L after the 2nd week of May.

You make all good points......Milton Bradley. That's all I needed to know. I also had Bedard as a sleeper on my fantasy team.

I Think it was aboout a month ago, atlanta had a 10 run lead and blew it for a loss and in the same day cincy had a 10 run lead blew the lead and scratched out a win in extra innings
theres been some ridiculous come backs this year....Colorado has had a few

Ah...I remember that. It was the same week, not day. But yes...I remember them well.
Atlanta had a 10-1 lead against the Rockies and lost 12-10.
Cincy was in Philly. Leake was pitching the game of his life. He goes out for the Complete Game and everything fell apart. The Phillies scored 6 runs including a pinch hit homer by Cody Ransom of all people. Then Dobbs hits a 2 run homer in the 10th to walk it off.
Great win for the Phillies.
The Reds went on to lose the next 2 games 1-0 if I remember correctly. Wood had a no hitter very deep into one of them against Halladay.

Never mind...it wasn't in the same week. St. Louis is the one that blew it in Colorado during that week.

No, hammer22 is right. He's referring to the day that the Reds had a 10 run read against the Giants and the Giants fought all the way back (and actually took the lead in the 9th, only to have Fatso Sandoval make an error at 3rd to get the tying run on) only to lose on a Joey Votto single off Barry Zito in the 10th (who came in from the bullpen because the Giants had run out of pitchers).
I remember that day like it was yesterday.
