Sorry to make this "worthless thread" but I was just listening and Dicky V was on and he was pretty much ripping A-Rod a new one because using juice and pretty much said who gives a shit about his 600th home run because he cheated.

Im watching but i missed that. Oh well for dickie v. Its an accomplishment either way for arod. Alot of guys cheated. Are we ripping shawn merriman or rookie of the year brian cushing?

You can't compare a football player and a baseball player.

You can't compare arguably one of the greatest players in the history of their sport to a player who is going to be a second string linebacker, or a guy who had one good season.

Yeah but arod was great regardless. The guy was dominant at age 20 in 1995.

And just so anyone isnt saying homer to me i dont knock the home runs or career of david ortiz either. Same thing

Barry Bonds was great, McGwire was great, Sosa was great, Clemens was great, Palmeiro was great.  Not so anymore.

Oh really? Well i can come up with rumors over everything. There are rumors jim tressel was on roids when he coached the buckeyes to the 2002 natl title

Do you listen to yourself, or even read what you post?

Jim Tressel was never proven to have taken steroids.  Jim Tressel did not have to call a press conference to admit he was taking steroids.  Jim Tressel has not been rumored to have been taking steroids since he was 17 and living in Miami.

There is a DIRECT connection between every rumor about steroids and Alex Rodriguez and steroid, a correlation that has been true on almost everything indicated.

I also mentioned i dont rip david ortiz or manny ramirez career and trust me i dont like them. Its not just about numbers. Manny and ortiz were huge  parts of the red sox success

I also know the royals owner owns walmart and is one of the richest men around but spends nothing on the team. Your point? This isnt a payroll discussion though

How the hell can you justify that statement? Do you live in an alternate "Fringe" universe where A-Rod wasn't A-Roid, he didn't sign a $252 mil contract with Texas, played out his career batting in front of Ken Griffey Jr. in Seattle, they won 7 championships in 12 seasons and he got his 600-700-800 homers legitimately?

In the ONLY full season (2009) I know A-Rod to not have taken steroids, he missed over 20% of the games. So who is to say he "gets the numbers"... he could easily have had a Griffey career, cut short by injuries without popping pills and plunging syringes.

And for what it is worth, Ortiz has 58 home runs in 1477 at bats in Minnesota, or under 4% of the time. In Boston, Ortiz has hit 280 home runs in 3,992 at bats, or over 7% of the time. Clearly batting in front of Manny helps, but I guess the "water" in Boston is just better

And I am an Indians fan, and if you think for 1 second that Travis Hafner doesn't have some form of HGH to thank for the $50+ mil he has stolen from Cleveland, you are insane.

The only thing i feel roids/hgh do is refresh you more often than you would without them, not hit a ball better.  These guys, mcgwire, bonds, clemens ( a pitcher!), sosa, all have the totals they have and thats the end of it. Arod is going to be the home run leader. Right now its bonds. Deal with it
