were just asked, "are they both rooting for a Game 7"
McCarver instantly chimes in "Absolutely!!"
Buck, not wanting to seem as obviously biased....said, "I think the word 'rooting' is dangerous,"....then gave a long winded BS answer about not being against it or alternatively seeing his kids
couldn't be any more obvious these two, along with Fox in its entirety (Grace, Carey etc.)......are completely anti-Yanks, are biased in their announcing, which then gets people all riled up about ump calls, balls/strikes etc involving the Yanks.....so easy to manipulate the ignorant public

On the other hand...how much do they get paid per game? I would want another game too if I was in their spot.
honestly don't know for sure, but I would think they'd be paid a salary by Fox, not per game...which in fact would counsel against them wanting more games to work

True...I know they're both anti-Yankee...I was just curious. We need to find the answer to that question though. Europa seems to want to know too.

You can tell it in their voices. They are always more upbeat when the Yanks are losing. Just like in Game 4. Feliz homers...McCarver is pumped...A-Rod doubles...he's down again. Try and catch his voice tonight if the situation presents itself.

In my local paper today there was a column on a sports caster of CBS Jim Nantz, he just went thru a divorce and the court ordered him to pay his wife $72,000 a month in alimony and reported his annual salary was 3.2 million.
So just to give you guys an idea of a sportscasters salary

This has been such a great series, I think baseball fans (not you Yankee homers of course) in general want it to go to a game 7. And I think that's what McCarver meant...

as an announcer, working for a Network (not one working for an individual sports franschis) covering a championship event, its your professional responsibility not to be biased or "root" for a certain team

Exactly...you can "root" for a great game, but you can't "root" for a certain team. The same reason why Kirk Herbstreit doesn't make a pick on the games he broadcasts.

This is all sort of silly. Tim McCarver answered the way any baseball fan would answer. Not a Yank fan or a Philly fan. A baseball fan wants to see a game 7.
I had my teeth cleaned yesterday and the dental tech(young woman) was rooting for Pedro, for the dramatics of it all.
And she and I both agreed on how much better it would be if it went 7.
Just a fan of baseball. Game 7's............are the equivalent of one superbowl.
Why all the hate for Buck and McCarver. There are plenty of worse out there.
