#1 Posted: 11/3/2009 8:54:58 PM The only sure thing I see is Mariano Rivera .If the Yankees have a lead in the 7th its quite possible the best player on the field will be in there to get 7 or 8 outs if necessary.
In my opinion this gives the Yanks a huge edge.
In my opinion there is no value in taking the Phillies at the current 2-1 price.

#3 Posted: 11/3/2009 9:13:12 PM In yankee stadium no way this guy gives up a lead tomorrow .Pettitte knows he needs to give us 6 which he should be able to do.The Phillies will be pressing as each inning passes knowing if they fall behind by even a run they are dealing with just about a 6 inning game.

#4 Posted: 11/3/2009 9:19:08 PM Not sure if he'll go 3...the last time he did that though was a memorable game. 2003...Game 7...ALCS. But I even think if he went 3 innings, he could do it. Everyone knows what he has and they just can't hit him. The only thing would be if he got tired, which is probably why he won't go 3...that may be stressful. |

#5 Posted: 11/3/2009 9:50:03 PM Agree not a full 3.If they are nursing a 1 run lead I cant see Girardi taking a chance with anyone else with the final 8 outs left.I myself would have no problem with it.I think Mariano has one more thing to do and that is to at least try and erase some of the memories of the ninth inning against Arizona. |

#7 Posted: 11/3/2009 9:54:16 PM He did go 2.1 earlier(forgot against who though)...I think if Pettitte goes 6.2 and it's a close game, Mo would get the call for that. Anything more and I think otherwise.
All I know is he will make an appearance in THIS game when the Yankees win the World Series. |

#9 Posted: 11/3/2009 11:29:37 PM Saturday Mariano only needed 8 pitches for the save.
He's had 2 days off.
I figure he's good for at least 40 pitches.
We need to get to the 7th tied or with a lead and then Mo turns out the lights.
Exit light, Enter night! |

For a Phillies fan, the thought that Hamels might start game 7 if they can win tonight may be more scary

#13 Posted: 11/3/2009 11:41:55 PM I like the over first 5 tomorrow. I did like the over for the game until I came in here and started thinking about it.
Pedro's fortunes run out and pettite shouldnt be pitching on 3 days rest. I love Pedro and hes been great, but I just dont think hes going to do it again, he proves you wrong everytime, but I am playing over first 5, gotta go for it. |

#16 Posted: 11/4/2009 3:09:59 AM There's no "value" in betting the Phils at 2-1 odds but there IS value in betting the Yanks at 1-2?
With NYs starter on 3 days rest, and the Phils starter on 5 days rest, I'd say you're smoking somethin potent. The only value in this game is clearly on the underdog.

Here's the "value"
Phillies= $100 to win $200 LOSS
Yankees= $200 to win $100 WIN
If that's how the game ends...where is the "value" on the underdog? Yankees win...hence...no value on the dog. |
