Is Anybody Else(As A FAN) Excited About These Playoff Matchups?

I'm so pumped for the playoffs. I mean these matchups are going to be great.
 
Red Sox v Angels-this matchup will be intense. The Angels are the better team, but we all know what it's like come October. I actually can't wait to watch this series and cheer for the Red Sox.
 
Yankees v Tigers/Twins-I'd prefer to face the Twins because the Yankees dominate them, but the Tigers may take the Central and thats a bit scary. Although this would probably be the worst series to watch for most...me, being a Yankee fan, would love to watch this one. Sabathia v Verlander. Pettitte v Jackson. 2 solid pitching matchups right there. Gonna be great.
 
 
As for the National League...WOW. I personally think that ALL 4 teams(if the Rockies make it) are equal.
 
Cardinals v Rockies/Giants-Rockies just find ways to win and Jiminez and Marquis are solid as well is De La Rosa as a 3rd starter. If they had Cook...what a team this would be. They wouldn't compare to Carpenter, Wainwright and Pineiro but they're solid. But 2 great offenses along with solid pitching, this would be such a great series to watch. Really excited for this one. But if the Giants somehow prevail, Timmy and Cain v Carpenter and Wainwright would be the best playoff matchups in recent memories.
 
Phillies v Dodgers- Another great matchup. 2 solid offenses, rematch of the 2008 ALCS. Who wouldn't sit down and watch this matchup? Starters Advantage goes to the Phillies but the bullpen advantage goes to the Dodgers(strictly because of Lidge). Manny with his playoff heroics. Lee and Hamels with their brilliance. Insane.
 
 
I personally think this will be the best playoffs in a long time. For once in a long time these matchups are as even as it gets.

Well I pushed my Marlins/Phillies first half under(key words there are FIRST HALF ). I won my Tigers/Indians First Half under so I'm up for the day but MATT CAIN just fucking trippled and my under 4.5 First Half is in serious doubt there.

I heard the announcers talking about the Yankees taking the extra day option in the first round of the playoffs (I am presuming the Yankees will play Detroit). Verlander can be tough as nails and I think it would be a mistake for the Yanks to take the extra day because it gives Verlander an extra day to rest. He'll pitch a full game when he starts and it wouldn't surprise me to see him pitch in relief, like Pedro did a few years ago.

Sparky10191 enough is enough no one is excited of seeing the yankees sweep thru the playoffs but you.  one thing that new york wont have and endge on boston for a long time is in BASKETBALL. cant wait for the CELTS

ur really excited about the yanks vs togers/twins? only reason to get excited is if ur a yankee fan and ur celebrating 1st playoffs in the new stadium. yanks will bury the tigers/twins in 3 games.

hopefully the phils get 2nd seed and play rockies i wouldnt like playing la again even though they are struggling but yeah it should be fun playoffs

Red Sox/Angels should be great. Tigers/NYY Tigers are one of the worst playoff teams in years. Any series with the Dodgers will be They really aren't a good team. I don't think it's for certain they face Philly but either way Phillies or Cards, the Dodgers are done. The Rockies series should be a good one.

Yeah, it will be more excited if Angels vs Yanks in ALCS. Angels own Yankees by far

Yanks believe that by doing that, it'll make their team stronger. And I don't blame them. They think that their strength is better than anybody else's strength, and the rather play to their strength, than to another team's weakness. I agree that they should do the short rest series because CC could be more effective on short rest than Verlander, but they're also thinking ahead because they believe they'll win this series and be even stronger for the ALCS. And don't be so quick to knock out the Twins. 3 wins for them and they're tied going home to face the Royals while the Tigers face a pissed off Ozzie Guillen.

I'm pumped because after the absence last season, I'm as pumped as ever. I also have tickets to Game 2(trying to get Game 1) and can't wait. Especially if they play the Twins.  I've become a huge Twins supporter the past few weeks.
