Thanks to the Rockies for making me sweat the 9th inning, but they did pull through. Should have followed my other lean on RRS and the Mariners, but I passed.

Don't really love this card, but I do have one play I'm considering. Just a strong lean for now and likely to play it since I can't imagine sitting on the sidelines tonight.
Cleveland Indians ML and RL
Stumbled on a bizarre trend involving the Indians off a sweep. In the next game, they average 7 runs per game scoring at least 5 runs in all but one of these seven games. This one run occured in their last game following a sweep as they were handcuffed by Zack Greinke in a 2-1 loss. Prior to this game, their scores were 7, 9, 7, 5, 15, and 5. Now I don't think the Indians care that much at this point to get mad off a sweep and play their hearts out, but an interesting trend nonetheless.
I do, however, like the pitching matchup for the Indians tonight. Justin Masterson never got his shot at the rotation with the Red Sox, but now has the opportunity to solidify himself in the 2010 Cleveland Indians rotation. He really only has poor start since coming over to the Indians so it seems he is focused on keeping his name in the rotation discussions. On the other hand, Clayton Mortensen is really just filling a gap in the rotation and is coming off a 6 IP, 1 earned run performance against the Twins. I really like playing against unproven young starters off a solid performance and Mortensen fits that bill tonight. Throw in Oakland heading home after a long road trip and I'm liking the Indians to take Game 1 of this series.
Will come back later to finalize if I play it ..

Masterson had plenty of starting chances with Boston between last year and thisyear not so many this year but he comfortable taking the ball every 5th day ....hes a good young arm when his sinker is on hes a ground ball machine .... Boston never really let him get in trouble with early hooks and run support I like him just the same

Nicky - Completely agree; I think it was a case of too many cooks in the kitchen. When he got the ball as a starter it didn't last long because someone was coming off the DL or the Sox made a trade. Nature of a team on top. However, now he's in a situation where he controls his own fate. Think he deserves to be a starter somewhere in this league.
LADaddy - Think it's a good spot for the Tribe

I agree 100% he is most defineatly big league material Clev would be wise to hang onto him and START him they gave up alot in Vmart to give up on this kid too quickly........... the news has been trickleing out of Toronto that Masterson Bucholz top prospect Hagadone and 2 others were part of the potential Halladay trade .. and the blue jays scoffed at it

I like the Indians more because of Oakland's unlikely sweep of Texas. Now they come home against a team they are more expected to beat, but they'll lose.

Oakland plays better at home than on the road. And they just swept the Texas Rangers, who tried hard to win those game, since they were in a playoff race. I wouldn't bet against a hot team like the A's. There's alot better games out there.
