Time to reevaluate the Indians and, yes -- I said it -- the entire A.L. Central race.
The Tribe has two, arguably three, guys pitching halfway decently, and the steadiest run production in MLB.
They've closed to within 10 games of first in a few weeks, winning series from the Tigers, Twins, White Sox, and Seattle -- three of those series on the road -- and splitting with the Angels in Anaheim.
Seriously, whether you think they have a shot or not -- particularly as they get some attention and actual pressure, as we saw with the vaunted Nationals tonight -- it's a good handicapping question for the rest of the season.
I would think Texas pounds them on Wednesday with Hunter against Carmona -- perhaps a line to be taken advantage of. But then, three weeks ago I thought sure Jeremy Sowers would get shelled in Seattle.... It never happened.

Nice thread; cute. I think the Indians will pass the Twins soon, but fade out in the stretch run against the Sox and Detroit. Don't see the playoffs in their 2009 future.

Yep, and I think Texas needs this one. They're not going to catch the Angels, and Boston isn't nearly as bad as it looked last week without Bay in the lineup --

Nice call.
What do you have to say about Thursday, 59 --
Feldman versus Sowers?

Somehow, yes, I feel as though Cleveland's had it's run --
Or maybe it will even continue... but the real teams will be able to beat them (like Texas today, with Feldman). The weak-butt teams from the AL Central, they may have more difficulty -- and the Indians have plenty of games with them.
I'm going to risk it and, yes, by all means, do the runline, just like yesterday (again, nice call -- huge underdogs they were when bet that way, yehhhsss.)
