Ever since I watched mlb through directv, I have been in awe of how many announcing tandems suck balls. Then one day, I turned on Dodgers home game and could not believe my ears. Un-fucking-believable. I can sit and listen to Vin Scully call a ballgame or any type of event and love it. I turn on the radio sometimes and get stuck listening to fucknut Santo and want to put my ears in some Jigsaw type contraption. Hawk Harrelson and his homer ways get annoying at times. LA fans consider yourself lucky. Hope he calls Los Dohyers games until the end.

WE GOT JOSH LEWIN AND TOM GRIEVE DOWN HERE IN TEXAS CALLIN RANGERS GAMES ON TV AND ERIC NADEL ON THE RADIO SIDE THEY DO A REALLY GOOD JOB. I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN TEAMS CHANGE ANNOUNCERS EVERY 2-3 YEARS ALMOST AS BAD AS PLAYERS CHANGING TEAMS..I LIKE HAVING AN IDENTIFYABLE VOICE WITH THE TEAM..LIKE VIN. YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING EVERYTIME. THEY DONT TRY TO BE THE FOCUS. THEY SHOULD BE LIKE THE NARRATOR ON THE WONDER YEARS YOU KNOW ITS DANIEL STERN BUT IT DOESNT DISTRACT YOU FROM LOOKING AT WINNIE LOL!

although harry was the most lovable,,,the cubs chased off our best announcer ever---steve stone---because he called out dusty baker and some players for their shitty performances--and he was ABSOLUTLEY right.
Santo, harrelson---2 biggest homers out there.

Caca-That is exactly what makes White Sox games bearable. Stoney's addition to the broadcast booth has been excellent and he makes up for Hawks homer bs and the Carmine days stories-"When Ol Yaz played the game the right way......."

I have grown up in so cal all my life and when I hear Scully's voice I think Dodgers immediately. The voice used to get me so excited to watch the Dodgers when I was a kid. But now that I played professionally and coached at a junior college for 6 years I prefer to hear announcers that actually know the finer points in the game. If a younger player wants to learn something from a Dodger game, then they will have to see because Vinny will never talk about it. But he will tell a story that has no relative meaning to the game. Hawk Harrelson is a great announcer, although a homer, he knows the game. "Ouch" when a gut gets fisted or "grab some bench", thats shit that we would say as players. Just my insight

i just purchased the extra innings package about 3 years ago and have considered it the gift and the curse. the good part is i get to watch whatever baseball game i want every nite, but the curse is having to listen to how pathetic and terrible all the announcers are around the country. another great thing about ext. innings is it introduced me to vin scully, this guy is so much better than the competition it is laughable, it is amazing how prepared and professional he is.
i am also from chicago, ron santo and hawk are absolutly terrible and actually insult the game of baseball, i absolutly love when the sox have to go to play up in minnesota and hawk has to do those games cuz he brings his bitching and whining to new levels up there.

just go back and listen to how Hawk called Buerhle's perfect game...Hawk just about lost his load; he knows diddly about the moment...when Manny hit his pinch hit grand slam, Vinny paused on the air to properly frame the magical moment
nothing compares
by the way, I still get goosebumps listening to Vinny call Gibson's pinch hit hr in the series..."in the year of the improbable, the impossible happened"
