I know new teams scare people, but 26.5 wins?  We are talking a 32% win rate.  Even money bet basically saying they won't be the WORST team in hockey.

If I was laying a bet, Id lean towards the over.  Im curious as to what their home record will be.  Specifically, will the visiting team be distracted by the fact that they are in Vegas.

That is an interesting thought.. The veteran teams will definitely be out doing a little gambling and maybe some clubbing... If they arrive a day (and night) early, many will surely be out, having a few beers, playing some table games...

I've seen it many times working in casino's.. Many of the veterans would come up when they were playing in California or Arizona..

My favorite. one day when Ray Bourque and his boys stopped in on their way to L.A. Kings.(Bruins).. They played Black Jack and drank beer in my section all day.. (day before an afternoon game)... They lost 6-3 as a favorite... I only bet 100.00 and was pi$$ed I didn't bet more..... Athletes often come, love to gamble, love the attention and enjoy their freedom...

I think it's a good wager, it's not like they are an expansion roster. Wouldn't go to crazy on it though

I would feel a LOT more comfy with the "Nighmares" defense IF freeking GM George McPhee had NOT traded BOTH Marc Methot  AND Trevor van Riemsdyk after picking them up in the expansion draft

sportsnewsdb.com speculating that former Penguin/Predators forward James Neal will be the "Nightmares" first captain BUT I think that D-man Deryk Engelland is more likely as he has been the  "face of the franchise" on Las Vegas media pretty much since the roaster was announced. "Big D" and his family have made Las Vegas their home since he played for the ECHL Las Vegas Wranglers years back and his wife Melissa is a Las Vegas girl

Down to 67 1/2 at my local.

I'm taking the OVER. This team should surprise at bit on the upside.

I am waiting to see HOW the pre-season goes when the "established" players like Fleury, Engelland, Perron, Neal, Lindberg, Marchessault, Haula, Sbisa and Rielly Smith are in the lineup against other teams "regulars". the Knights "young guns" kicked butt their first ever NHL game Sunday 9-4 BUT that was against Vancouver's "scrubs". here is the rest of the pre-season schedule

Tuesday 9-19 @ Avalanche
Thursday 9-21 @ Sharks
Sunday 9-24 @ Ducks
Tuesday 9-26 vs Kings
Thursday 9-28 vs Avalanche
Sunday 10-1 vs Sharks

I would think coach Gerard Gallant would play his regulars at least the last three @ T-Mobile Arena
