Wondering if Tampa feels like they have no more chances to do the playoff with the Bishop trade or they will listen to Yzerman that said ''We are still trying to make the playoffs''... Hard to tell what is the minding in the Tampa locker room...
Careful before you jump off the Bolts Bandwagon Boys
. Although you provide some very insightful stats regarding "Leaky Condons" record vs Bolts and "Alphabet Boys" vs Sens Big Habs
(in fact enough that I'm rethinking my Bolts Lean), I would hardly call trading Bishop, Yzerman's throwing in the towel. When Bolts signed Vasilevskiy to a 3 year $3.5M/ yr + back in July, the writing was on the wall, as at the time, I believe that put him in the top 20 Goalie salaries. It was also $2.5M/ yr LESS than Bishop and there was NO WAY Bolts would- or even could under Cap- retain 2 Goalies at over $6M/ yr in 2018.
IN FACT, I REMEMBER MR LIPPSMAN STARTING A THREAD BACK IN JULY/ AUGUST RE: THE VEGAS FRANCHISE (NO NAME THEN) AND HOW EXPANSION DRAFT WORKED AND WHO/ HOW MANY PLAYERS EACH TEAM COULD PROTECT.
MR LIPPSMAN, IF YOU'RE READING, ANY WAY TO BUMP THAT
I think I even commented back then that Bishop would be Vegas' starting Goalie unless Injury/ trade kept him out.
Anyway, if Stone and Hoffman weren't back, I would no doubt be betting Bolts tonight. However, I think Mushu has the right Play for tonight
But going back to Big Habs statement re: this trade (Oh- 1 more thing- Bishop is going to be a UFA after Season and as poorly as he's played this year, I'm sure he would want a salary in excess on his top ten $5.95/ yr he's currently under Contract for), As much as I respect Big Habs wealth of knowledge, I would have to disagree that this trade had anything to do with Yzerman throwing in the Playoff towel (NOW HE MAY HAVE DONE SO ALREADY, OR MAY DO SO WITH A FEW MORE LOSSES, OR SETBACK OF STAMKOS, ALTHOUGH I HEARD HE SKATED TODAY AND IS 2 WEEKS FROM BEING BACK, ESPECIALLY IT BOLTS STILL IN THE RACE)
BTW- I apologize to JP, as i just realized this was his Monday Plays Thread, and not a discussion of Lightning Playoffs........in fact, I think this is the second time I've done this to you JP
.
GOOD LUCK TONIGHT BUDDY
