Nothing crazy here, playing this to win a hundred bucks. This was the best line I could track down. This is mostly a human play. What I mean by that is there is a very emotional element at play in this game tonight I am sure most are unaware of. After leading the Oilers to some wins and seemingly supplying the team with some much needed confidence in only allowing a single goal in his last two starts both Oilers victories, Richard Bachman was suddenly called away from their California road trip last week due to the death of his older brother, whom he was very close to. In his absence and with a sudden hollowness in their dressing room the Oilers were subsequently thumped in the following few games and their effort was the complete opposite of what it had been in the previous few with Bachman in net. Tonight this young man makes his return to the Oilers net and with his teammates. He said more than anything his brother loved to watch him play and tonight he shall watch him play again, just from a different vantage point. For any of you out there that have never played some competitive hockey, let me tell you there is no greater galvanizing sanctuary in sports and in many places for that matter than a hockey dressing room, it's sacred ground. Win or lose, expect the Oilers to be ready to play their guts out for their returning mate in the memory of his brother. The Oilers are a very young team and they will be full emotion tonight.
No need to berate me about how awful the Oilers are or tell me that Nugent Hopkins is out or how great the Kings are etc. I know all this all too well. However with the following on my side I found enough reason to support this as a minor play.
Kings on a back to back with a one hour time zone change, and Kings are 2-5 in their last 7 B2B situations and are not the same team on the road as they are at home. The game last night was also no cakewalk as it was a very intense, up temp game against a quality opponent that went to a shootout.
Kings just humiliated the Oilers 8-2 catching them off a B2B in Cali right after their goalie had to leave due to his brothers death.
Bachman has faced the Kings 3 times in his career and is 2-0-1 against them with a GAA of 0.70, the lone loss was the only time he faced them as an Oiler and that was last season when he lost to the Kings in a shootout 2-1 after stopping 47 of 48 shots.
I am getting a goal and a half to go with all this.
I definitely have the weaker team here, but I think there is enough in play here to pay a little juice to gamble that they can keep this thing close tonight. I don't need them to win but gambling reasons aside I would love to see it.
The lion and the tiger may be more powerful, but the wolf doesn't perform in the circus.

A calculated risk for sure. Believe it's a human/emotional play like you said. The Kings sure do suck on B2B's, but they have just owned the Oilers and it's almost by 2 or more goals like clockwork.
On the exact other side here, so one of us will be happy.

As a Jets fan I hope LA lose tonight but they are in desperation mode but they may have an eye on that crucial clash with the Flames on Thursday so they may slip up tonight

Bear you know better than this. Kings are going to smash them
Ya sorry bud but what you suggested was never going to happen, I did think the kings might scratch out a win in extra time or something but they had no chance on this night of smashing this team and this goalie
