Well I took a nice hit on game 1 losing a couple of units and laid off game 2. Strange games no doubt...Kings haven't had a lead in this series yet lead the series 2-0...
What does this say?
Kings come out and play a period, tie the game, take it to OT and at that point it's a crap shoot. Hats off to them for their perseverance but they do not look like the big bad kings from the first 3 rounds. The stats (minus the third period) show that the Rangers can hang and if they got the timely saves this series should be 1-1 (or possibly 2-0 Rangers).
The biggest disappointment for me, King Henrik. An all world goalie with 3, 2 goal leads being blown. Completely flabbergasted...beyond that I feel my original post, was pretty damn accurate on the assessment of the series.
Anyways we move on to game 3. What do I expect? An all world game from King Henrik, I am relying on this guy tonight. The Rangers are surprisingly getting a lot of chances, scoring goals, shots on net (minus the third period in both games) and their speed seems to have the Kings on their heal (again, not the third period for both games).
I do like what Vigneault is saying to the media and will have his team motivated (biggest game in New York in over 20 years). Kings...well i would not be surprised if they pull this off again by only playing 20 minutes of hockey.
In short, 2 units on the Rangers (-145 - B365) to win tonight's game. I may double up on the Rangers for game 4 as I do feel this series will go 6 or 7. The difference tonight: Rangers desperation and Henrik showing why he is a top 3 goalie in the league.
As well, pondering a series play on the Rangers. The Kings on paper are superior but are yet to impress like they did the previous 3 series.
