Great read Polar, I just skimmed it right now but will be looking into each of these things you said in more detail as Wednesday rolls along to chime in properly.  I'm not sure who wins but I'll be betting this game-by-game unlike taking Bruins Series last round.

Most of the stuff you say I agree with.  The only 2 things I do not agree with are the defense and penalty kill.

Discipline will be very interesting.  The Bruins can act immature at times if they get frustrated and this is the first time they are playing another team in the Blackhawks who can frustrate teams as well as anybody so they will have to be very focused if they want to win.  It will be tough for the Hawks too since the Bruins are a deeper, more-talented (top to bottom if you disregard Datsyuk and Z), and more physical pest versions than the Wings.

Have not been this excited to watch a finals pre-finals since Colorado versus New Jersey in 2001.  I think it goes 7 and I'm not just saying that to say that and be respectful I really think it goes 7.  Will be in here to chime in later, thanks for starting the discussion.

I think your on the right side although as we know it won't be easy.

all good points, P_B, I still likes the Bruins chances BUT NO real "value" @ +125 for sereis after being +175 vs Penguins. I just took a flyer on the two "sweep" exactas. Bruins +1300 and Blackhawks +1000. just think one or the other could "get on a roll"

Good write up . I like the hawks in 6 mayyyyybe 7 . Problem is my local has hawks at -155 for series and -150 for game 1

Don't feel like laying that on a series bet , so may bet games individually

Hawks are tough, resilient and more talented at key positions than the Bs.  But Crawford is vulnerable to second chances and the Bs specialize in those plus the Chi D will not move our big forwards out of the way the way we can move Chis bigger dudes.  This goes 6 or 7.   Even without Campbell, you'll see the Bruins 3 rd and fourth line producing here.

I may be oversimplifying it but I think the most important battle is blackhawks breakout / forecheck.

Don't hawks have a similar stretch passing breakout to penguins.  When Detroit was able to disrupt that chi had problems generating offense.  We all saw Bruins just do the same to penguins. 

Will bruins be disciplined in their Defense?  Will hawks be able to make adjustments if bruins don't allow that breakout?

Should be a great series

to add to your ref thread brad watson is also the least homer ref in the league..home teams are 11-31 ATS (so - or + 1.5)

Discipline...I don't know. Marchand can get a little undisciplined at times but I have been impressed with the B's reigning it in in the playoffs and not taking stupid penalties. The Wings were able to get Toews off his game and take a few penalties so I am not sure I am seeing a big gap there. I am talking playoffs only.

When I made my series wager...the biggest factor to me was goaltending. I just think Rask is so in the zone that is an edge over Crawford even though Crawford has been great. I am not saying the Bruins are juggernauts but the Hawks were not exactly facing tremendous offense in the Wild...Wings or Crowns.

It should be a great series and whichever way it goes...my team has done me proud. Of course...I wagered this not because of a homer pick. I think they will win it. Good luck to you though.
