i posted several months back that i believed the hawks and bruins would meet in the finals since they were the best 2 teams. in fact i thought all 4 of the final four teams were the best left standing.
with that said; i like the B'HAWKS to win the cup. i still believe they are the best team and ousted a very good and mentally tough kings squad, who in my opinion are better then the penguins. hawks in 6 or 7.

Word...I like 6 too and if Rask wasn't lights out right now I'd say 5. He will still be the anchor for the B's but his numbers (save% goals against) will average out at some point, right?

So I have to ask the million dollar question....If Rask is playing lights out, the Bruins controlled the Pitt offense, and the manner the Bruins beat the Leafs.....how can you not make a series wager on them?

When the $ is right I'll take the B's on a game by game basis. Just my personal feelings, I think the Hawks win in 6. I'm thinking Rasks numbers will average out at some point. He's been a great goal tender all year but white-hot goalies do cool off at some point. Chicago is Fast and Physical something Boston has yet to see this post-season.

The Black Hawks have actually allowed fewer goals in this strike-shortened season than Boston. Chicago gave up 102 goals while Boston surrendered 109 through 48 games. The Hawks also scored 24 more goals than the Bruins, 155 to 131 through the 48-game schedule.
On the powerplay during the regular season, Chicago ranked 19th at 16.7% while Boston's ranked 26th at 14.8%.
In the playoffs heading into the finals, Boston's powerplay ranks 10th at 15.6% while the Black Hawks ranks 12th at 13.7%.
On the penalty-kill through 48 games, there was very little difference between the two clubs. Chicago ranked 3rd at 87.2% while Boston ranked 4th at 87.1%.
In the postseason, Chicago ranks 1st at 94.8% on the penalty-kill while Boston ranks 6th at 86.5%.
