Just saw the highlight.. There is no explanation except that the ref is crooked..
Ref killed all PL possibility and -.5 Reg time bets.. Vegas won tonight only having to pay out -200 to -240 to people who bet Chi ML..
No person in here can tell me otherwise it's happened in all sports way too many times and this is the biggest classic example because there is no way the ref didn't have an interest in this. No fkn way whatsoever you cannot make that call after they score.
I had no money on this at all. No interest in any team either. Just my straight up opinions.

He didn't make it after they scored. His hand was up way before. He is at fault because he did not pay attention to the developing play. But to say he made the call after the goal simply isn't true.

Hand was not up...and he called coincidental minors and even Red Wings fans will tell you that should have been a penalty to Quincey, Saad did absolutely nothing but get hammered away from the puck. He waives goal off from mid ice and doesn't put Chicago on the PP...that is a bit shady.

It doesn't even matter when he blew the whistle, he came all the way down the ice, he clearly saw the hawks on a dangerous rush outnumbering the red wings...his hand did not go up and he just waives off the goal because of an incident beside the benches that is clearly a penalty on the Detroit player....there is just so many things wrong with this picture lol

the funniest thing is eddie olczyk, how he says "making a safe call"...you could just tell how he stops in the middle of the sentence and hes thinking to himself man wtf are these refs doing. He actually really tries to be anti hawks on NBC/Comcast because he is the side commentator for the Hawks along with foley, so he doesn't want to be accused of being a homer.

Just watched the link BHF provided. Not a chance he raised his hand before the goal. WHy is it so hard for people to believe sports can be rigged? A million proven examples of it happening. He waited until the goal was scored then raised his hands. BHF is right about the penalty also. Dude gets punched and slammed and its a penalty on him. Vegas at work!!!!!

Sharp said he was blowing the whistle well ahead of the goal. Not saying it was the right call, but that official is not even looking up ice. He is watching behind the play. Now, the question would be more of how we're there matching minors?
I think the official saw the guy get roughed up by the Wing bench and Abdelkader coming onto the ice. It looked like it had the potential to get very ugly. He blew the whistle to protect the player.
I'm not saying it was the correct call but to say he came in after the play and waived off the goal is entirely inaccurate. You could see Wings players looking back before the goal was scored. This is because they heard the whistle. Again, even Patrick Sharp said he heard the whistle long before the goal.
In other words, unfortunate questionable call and the ref was doing his job (watching behind the play) but in no way a conspiracy.

Keep in mind that a few of the guys that said it was a bad call were so the guys that said the Penalty shot in game 6 was a bad call. I'm just sayin...
It sucks about you Reg play but there is no conspiracy, these things happen. I have seen much worse.
EXAME: Det/Pitt Cup where they have tape of the official telling a Pens player over and over to get off the ice (almost :20 sec) and not calling too many men.

Howard most likely heard the whistle too.
He let up and stopped playing goalie

Wow no offense but you guys are about as nieve as they come if you think the ref was 'blowing the whistle before the goal was scored' complete bull man.. You can watch the crowd jump up when the goal is scored and the ref blows his whistle and WAVES off the goal at the exact same time.. If he wasnt watching the goal being scored why does he WAVE off the goal!?!?!?! LOL.
It's ok I know there will always be people out there that don't wanna believe it.. To me, it's not even a conspiracy anymore it's just straight up truth. You can't convince by just saying 'these things happen' sorry.

EVEN IF he was blowing the whistle 2 seconds before the goal the guy was wide open and about to shoot taking away the chance.. It doesn't even matter there was an odd man rush guy wide open the ref takes it all away when he blows the whistle waves off the goal.. So to those that wanna argue that it doesn't even matter it can still be rigged..
Way more evidence of a crooked ref then just a bad call sorry.
