Just thought id put this out there after I read it. Kessel 10th in scoring Seguin 70th. Kessel has over 100 points more then all three of the players he was traded for combined over the last three years. I am quite frankly sick of hearing what a bad teal the leafs got on this trade when these numbers are shown. Im not saying that Seguin isnt a good player but what does a young player who gets 80+ points go for in a trade. By the way way everyone keeps saying just wiat till Seguin gets to being a point getter ,Kessel was a 30 goal scorer as soon as he came in to the league. Its time to start showing Kessel the respect he deserves. As well for those who thinks hes two play is not the greatest I think last not showed he is stepping up in that department.

So when Dougie Hamilton is in the running for the Norris. Seguin has a coach that encourages creativity and is top10. Oh yeah and Jared Knight is a force on the third line. I'd like to see u bump this thread!

huh?

i cant fathom how anyone can possibly think this was a good trade for toronto...

in kessel's first 3 seasons with the leafs the team missed the playoffs...

how much worse would the team have been in those 3 seasons had the deal not been made?...

(answer: no worse)...

now the leafs are in the playoffs, and kessel actually scored a goal v boston, and suddenly it's a great deal?...

mystifying logic...

reminds me of  the couple of good games barry pederson had for vancouver after they acquired him for cam neely

again people saying when this and when that. Tyler seguin had a terrible year when the bruins won the cup and hamilton wasnt even on the team. Bruins won the cup as a team not on individually effort, Oh ya the only guys that have more points then him in the last two seasons ovi giroux and stamkos. Any one that cant see that Kessel is a very good hockey player is blind. Not only does he score but sets up goals as well and whats the score after two games. Kessel one and seguin and hamilton nothing. Seguin not on the team two yeas ago bruins still win the cup. Obviously Kessel has to be first in the league to get any respect and this thread prove it.

On a deeper team is exactly what my point is. If the leafs drafted this guy I guarantee you Toronto would have run this guy right out of town cause how he played his first year. Hmm 32 points in first year. pff. If was on Toronto that year he probably would of had less and us as a Toronto fan base would of ruin that kid and possible his career. So he gets to go to a very much deeper team and blend in. Oh yeah and do u see what what a first rounder gets you these days a third line checker. (example Buffalo at the trade deadline last year). I was unfortunate enough to have Horten, Lucic and, Chara in my pool this year and they were by far my worst players in the pool. They may be a very deep hockey team but boy there point production is crap.

As for age Kessel is 25 still a very young hockey player. Bruins are over rated and getting older. Leafs youngest team in the league and getting better every year. Oh ya probably have the coach of the year for the east just behind the Canadians coach. Best fan base in the world. Go leafs Go!!!!!!!!!!!

He is a good player but until you can prove you can play with the big boys why should you be mentioned. Kadri is proving to be twice the player Seguin is. numbers dont lie. He checks he scores he sets up plays. Leafs are quicker in every level of the game and thats why the won last night and the fact that our coach out coached the bruins . Oh ya when a team makes it there duty to have one of the best dman in the game on the ice at the same time as you that shows you how much respect the bruins have for Kessel.Or is that just a non factor as well? The one time he isnt the man uses his speed gets a breakway and scores.

am i missing something? did seguin take the team on his back and win the cup for the bruins? um no he was a forth liner . U can credit Tim Thomas with doing that. Just because you have a cup doesnt mean your a better player. Brad may has a cup ring your going to tall me he is better the Kessel to give me a break. Lets stop talking about two years ago as well. What have the bruins done lately besides choke a 3-0 zip lead to the flyers and get beaten in the first round last year.

point being seguin has a cup and kessel doesnt and wont ever with the leafs. because the leafs suck! and im a leaf fan!

Not talking about who has a cup and who doesnt. Its who is a better hockey player. Forget the name and if asked you would u want a guy who is 10th or 70th in scoring who would you take?
