with an "All-Star Team" of Penguins OUT tonight, I think it would be wise to NOT bet them. plus Senators desperate to stay OUT of the #8 seed and have to play Pens 1st round.

one consideration for the Penguins NOT to "lay down" tonight is they would LOVE to play the Senators 1st round instead of the Rangers. will it be "The Iggy and Juicy" show like the last @ Boston? (sounds like a 1980's Hanna-Barbera cartoon)

Senators ARE probably IN the playoffs unless they take an absolute "dump"  their last 4 AND the Jets were to come on but DO agree they have "more to play for" than the Penguins.

WELL so far NO Letang, NO Flower, NO Crosby, Malkin or Neal and NO PROBLEM. 2-0 Pens end of 1st period. Iggy and B M picking up the slack. 

like I said earlier, I'm sure the Pens would rather play these guys 1st round of playoffs than Rangers (OR Islanders) 

Conversely however we tend to see it all the time where teams play that much better or seem to put out a better effort when they're shorthanded from a manpower standpoint. Perfect example of this scenario was Ottawa themselves this season. People keep saying how amazing it is that they're having such success without Spezza and Karlsson in the lineup but again it's just the way it seems to work in sports. So it's really no big surprise to see the Penguins having success tonight with these players resting.

THAT is the reason I think Paul MacLean should win the Jack Adams this season. half the teams in this league would have rolled over and died losing their top two player for the season.

Penguins ARE somewhat different. their 4th liners would probably be on the top line with ANY of the "bottom feeder" teams. have THE best "lineup depth" in the league esp after picking up Iginla, Jokinen and Morrow

I think Vokoun has something to do with that. he has been "kayopectate" lately
