Adding to Dec. 28 picks:
#3: 1 unit @ -118 Canada -4.5 vs Slovakia
Missed the mark with my original wager on Canada with such drastic line movement.
Still don't know what to make of Sweden and their ravished D...My gut says they still cover the spread but Swissies have Richard and Andrighetto off to firing starts.
Will likely be on USA +0.5 line as well but I'm going to wait it out this time and see which direction the line moves (can't afford to keep bleeding value left and right like I did in today's USA -5.5 line and possibly tomorrow's Canada -4.5 line!)

Hard to see the USA line getting any juicier but guess ya never know with these crazy line movements!

#9 Posted: 12/27/2012 11:53:08 PM Cmon the Russians are sleeping until the games matter. I think they will be up for this.
Galchenyuk choosing to play for the USA instead of Russia = extra motivation?
I hate that these games are so early. This should be a great game.

#12 Posted: 12/28/2012 3:17:46 PM Colberg for Sweden is another player to watch. He has been much more impressive than Forsberg so far.

#13 Posted: 12/28/2012 3:48:26 PM Collberg has been great so far this year. Forsberg on the other hand, 16SOG yet only 1 goal so far? Fortunately he's going up against Division A's resident punching bag tomorrow at least...
Re Yakupov: wouldn't have been believable at the start of this year's WJHC to see Yakupov only having 2pt after 2 games played after him scoring 80 goals in 107 OHL games and 10 goals in 22 KHL games...Fortunately for Russia, they're 2-0 despite Yakupov's early struggles (and for that matter Grigorenko's early struggles). I think Russia will capitalize on their opportunity to tune up against Division B's resident slump-busters Germany before taking on Canada next...

#14 Posted: 12/29/2012 11:27:15 AM Ugh, Forsberg with another only OK game (2 second assists today). Had to put things into damage control mode via making an in-game wager on Sweden -2.5 5 mins into 3rd period when it was 2-1 Sweden

#1: 1 unit @ +110 Finland vs Switzerland O6.5 goals

It's certainly one of those games where at the end of it, we're either scratching our heads wondering "WTF was I thinking going against two hot goalies" or "there was never a doubt RNH, Yakupov etc. would light it up"

Group A:
Sweden (1-3 ATS) (1-3 O/U) Czech Republic (3-1 ATS) (1-3 O/U) Switzerland (4-0 ATS) (2-2 O/U) Finland (0-4 ATS) (2-2 O/U) Latvia (3-1 ATS) (1-3 O/U)
Group B:
Canada (2-2 ATS) (2-2 O/U) Russia (2-2 ATS) (1-3 O/U) USA (3-1 ATS) (2-2 O/U) Slovakia (2-2 ATS) (2-2 O/U) Germany (1-3 ATS) (3-1 O/U)
Leans:

Probably going to wait out the USA and Russia lines as I think Czechs and Swiss will get a lot of action leading up to game time...Will lock in Finland wagers shortly...

#1: 1 unit @ -143 Finland -2.5 vs Germany
#2: 1 unit @ -125 Finland vs Germany O6.5 goals
Going to be tough to pull trigger on Overs against the two best goalies in the tournament (Gibson and Vasilevski)...

#4: 1 unit @ +110 Czech Republic vs USA -2.5
Laying off Russia game after unfavourable line movement (-114 to -125)
Not surprising to see lines juiced heavily after books took such a beating this week in WJHC...

#25 Posted: 1/2/2013 7:39:55 AM Oops, that's play #5
OnlyGod, I didn't like the fact that the Czechs took key penalties in their last game vs Switzerland to allow the Swiss back in that game...I thought they were getting a bit too loose in that sense. Keep in mind, the Czechs were 1:59 away from going 4 straight Unders before that collapse which would have had them feeling great going into the QF round.
Before their game against USA, I thought penalties would continue to be an issue for them and USA isn't a team you want to give man advantages away to...
