Balls in his court, wanted Van to step up and take a run at him, lets see if he goes all in to Sabres |

#3 Posted: 8/22/2012 9:59:06 AM I doubt he will be getting a 4 year offer from Van, or will be offered a salary higher than what the Sedins make. |

#6 Posted: 8/23/2012 12:05:30 AM I'm with the huntsman. I like Shane Doan and think he's a class act BUT $7.5 a year for him for 4 seasons would be a gross overpay |

#8 Posted: 8/23/2012 11:30:15 AM although i agree 7.5 might be to much, shane doan should not be measured by goals and assists alone, with out him phoenix does not get past chicago in round 1 last years playoffs. darn smith, doan gets the team going whether he is the goal scorer or not! |

If Smith doesn't stand on his head and Crawford garbage the bed the Hawks win that series in 5 games tops with or without Doan.....He is 36 years old so this contract runs till he is 40...Most of his intangibles will be up in smoke probably long before that...That is if he can even stay healthy over the 4 years....Horrible contract offer that just turns me more off of hockey....No wonder a strike is looming with stupid contract offers like these....
