Gotta wonder if J.P. would have been the same way in this day and age had he been playing now? Afterall they normally say 'like father, like son' but by the same token his daddy grew up and played when players respected the game as opposed to simply playing and caring solely for the big dollars like they do today. This delay crap by this little weasel is nothing more than a complete joke. Who the hell does this little u.s. punk think he is anyway, the next coming of Gretzky or Lemieux? Hell he's not good enough to tie the laces on either of those players skates let alone suit up with them. Too bad the teams involved couldn't band together in agreement to avoid making this complete jerk an offer altogether. Screw you parise you pitiful greedy punk!!!

Get a clue you moron.  Parise actually texted the Wild beat writer yesterday and said, "sorry to go dark on you for a few days, but this has been really difficult."

Parise is a great hockey player and even a better guy.

JP has said numerous times that he would not discuss ANY of this with his son. It's too important and he doesn't want to influence him.

Stupid Canuck.

Yeah pinball...it must be because he is from the U.S. Where are you even going with that???? I know the regular Canadian posters probly cringe when you open your mouth and put your foot in it. Parise is a great player in this league.

I will tell you what...if you want to blame people...blame the owners who are going to pay ridiculous ubsurd contract money to these players. What is wrong with him getting the best deal for him and his family. I certainly would. You are only one serious concussion away from being out of the game these days.

As far as Lemieux...he was one of the biggest whiners and complainers going and has gotten even more cranky as an owner. It used to be "Oh...I cannot play with all this clutching and grabbing" and now its " I will just have to take my puck and leave hockey if all this violence against my team doesn't stop " all the while having some of the most dirty play going as referenced with Matt Cooke's cheap shot sideshow up until last year and their woefully cheap play against your Flyboys this past season in the playoffs.

You really piss me off sometimes. Think before you write.

Yeah, where he was from the U.S. he is a punk ?

Parise snagged $98 million for 13 years.....congrats to him.  He gets $7.53 million a year and is set for the rest of his playing days.

Also, heaven forbid he actually goes home to play now !!!

Minny is serious about winning now.  They need more pieces but he and Suter are a great start.

And PB, you are a complete idiot.

Yeah and like the sportcasters were indicating the little 'punk' is looking for the best team or the best opportunity to win a Stanley Cup, friggin baloney! Today's signing certainly put that notion out to pasture becaused quite frankly I would be willing to put any amount on the Wild not winning a Stanley Cup in the next few seasons. Well done you pair of greedy people!!!

To the rest of you morons who chirped into my thread, take a friggin hike, particularly you MuchEmAl useless twit!!!

The Wild won't win a Stanley Cup in the next few seasons.

Really going out on a branch with that prediction.

Yeah and like the sportcasters were indicating the little 'punk' is looking for the best team or the best opportunity to win a Stanley Cup, friggin baloney!

people seem to forget that the Wild were the hottest team in the league last season from the last of October thru mid December going 17-4 and with 5, 5 & 7 game win streaks BUT injuries, esp to Mikko Koivu, Bouchard and Latendresse killed them and they never recovered.

"The Yoemen" already had decent potential with Koivu, Bouchard, "sparkplug" Cal Clutterbuck AND both Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi (IF Mike Yoe can light a fire under their behind) AND have acceptable goaltending with Niklas Backstrom and Josh Harding so the addition of Parise and Suter could be the key.

will be interesting to see how much that opening Wild western conference 100-1 and stanley cup 200-1 odds changes @ LVS Superbook.

The Wild clearly are the most improved team this offseason, they brought back Harding, and got the 2 top free agents available, if Koivu and Backstrom stay healthy and maybe Heatley rebounds this team should be in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Yes I agree with this, thinking they are looking at an 8th or 7th spot this year.  One and done in the playoffs, but will have a rising point total and playoff seeding for the next few years.

And Parise took a deal for less money.  Sounds selfish and arrogant to me.

Idiot Canadian.

Either than the blue Jackets damn near every team in the Western confernce should compete, to put things in perspective, last years champs won 40 games, the wild 35, if Koivu didn't get hurt and they won a few more of those  11 ot and so losses they might have squeaked in last year.

When asked about pressure, Parise said, "pressure usually results from a lack of preparation."

Who doesn't want a guy like that on their team?

The Wild's top 3 players are great guys, HATE to lose, and work their fools off.

Does that mean the Cup?  Who knows.  But it's a perfect storm for Wild fans.

Personally dude

I like parise

I called this like a week ago. I told my boy dont count out his home town team the wild and there gonna make him a good offer. Flyers offered more loot but thats not what it was about. Suter wanted to sign where he signed so i think if parise signed with flyers suter would have followed.

We struck out.

Flyers will be good if bryz plays good.

There is no doubt that Parise played a huge part in the Wild being able to sign Suter.  I honestly thought MN and Philly were the top 2 choices for them.  Pitt never really was in the mix.

For once the people in flyover country have something to feel good about.

Chuck Fletcher took the GM job saying he wanted to model MN after Detroit.  The prospect cupboard was completely bare when he got here.  Now they have multiple prospects and a pretty good roster to boot.  Like I said, they have a chance to be good for 5-10 years.

Putting Parise on the first line with Koivu and Setoguchi is gonna flat out be fun.  Heatley can move to the 2nd line.  It gets Brodziak and Clutterbuck back where they belong.  Solves a TON of problems.

Pissball  ...  Maybe they did want to go to a WINNER.  When was the last time the Flyers ever won?  LONG TIME AGO EH  The Wild may win a cup before the Flyers do so how are they greedy by taking less money to be in Minnesota?

Well JTFart, if you think they had to wait that long to choose a winner in Minnesota, then definitely have suffered a brain fart period!!!

Not sure how you could have thought the Flyers were in the running for both these selfish jerks? I mean how did you think they were going to free up space to lure them? Trade Giroux?
