I think that Cory Schneider signing a 3 year deal for 12m has relieved a lot of Canucks fans - now we just gotta trade Loo.. |

#3 Posted: 6/30/2012 7:35:15 PM Yep esp cuz Brodeur is now out there as well.. I don't think Nucks fans really care what we get back for Lou I know I sure don't! The offload of the contract would be good enough.. |

#4 Posted: 6/30/2012 8:31:02 PM There was a story a few days ago that said Luongo refused trades to both Toronto and Chicago because he wants to go to Florida. It might not actually be Gillis' fault that he's still in Vancouver. |

I really wouldn't blame him. hockey mad Canadian cities like Vancouver can be a pressure cooker. Toronto would be even worse. Chicago is an "original six" city that's really "reved up" for the Blackhawks since they won the cup. plenty of pressure there too.
South Florida would be like retirement. |

#6 Posted: 7/1/2012 1:33:31 AM Well Florida is where Quebecers go to retire so it would make perfect sense lol.
I'm not optimistic on it being an exciting day. I feel the Pens will get one of Parise or Suter, whichever they pursue....the other i don't know and that's it.
There is no other intriguing free agent.
There is no rush for any GM to make a trade tomorrow for either Nash, Ryan or Luongo.

#14 Posted: 7/1/2012 3:49:14 PM I think Colby can still be effective, but his confidence was completely shot with the Leafs. Can't blame them for cutting him loose. The guy was hiding major injuries in order to prove that he wasn't a liability and just kept digging a bigger hole for himself. Hopefully he can get healthy and turn it around in Montreal. |

#15 Posted: 7/1/2012 4:22:05 PM Habs also signed Prust..a bit of an overpayment but that's Montreal...along with Toronto we have to overpay.
They definitely got tougher now that they have Armstrong, White, Moen and Prust.
Hopefully they get some scoring now because Eller is the only offensive threat in the bottom 6.

I was kind of looking at Brandon Prust for my Penguins. NOT going to be much of a scorer BUT brings a lot of "grit" and like Armstrong he gives 100% whenever he's on the ice. I have been impressed with his play while he was a Ranger.
nothing about salary or length of contract on the TSN.ca http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=25880
good pickup for the Habs |

#17 Posted: 7/1/2012 5:30:01 PM looks like the LA Kings are now set for at least next season. resigned Dustin Penner for 1 year @ $3.25 million so I guess 'The Booze Brothers" line of Richards, Carter and Penner stays intact
earlier they locked up both Jarret Stoll for 3 years and Colin Fraser for 2 years AND just gave Quick that 10 year extension. |

personally VERY suprised they didn't. like I said, I would have taken him on the Penguins
Islanders losing PA Parenteau to Colorado hurts them. will see IF he can match his numbers NOT playing with John Tavares
Jets signed Devils UFA Alexei Ponikarovsky to a one year $1.8 million contract so, once again, Ray Shero is snoozing in his office. I think "Pono" would have looked good on a wing with Geno Malkin. |

#25 Posted: 7/1/2012 11:23:15 PM Prust signed 10 mil for 4 years. That is a bit much since Moen signed for over 2 mil less with same number of years. But whatever he is a character guy.
