#1 Posted: 5/22/2012 11:49:52 AM How will the Kings handle that confidence being broken ?? I don't think very well. And speaking from a historical perspective, the home team being a dog here is just too good to resist.
Ignoring win order; considering site order, the team leading 3-1 and going on the road for game 5 has a record of 40-51 (.440) overall and for the Semifinals round: 11-9 (.550)
Add to that the Kings finally losing and Smith going out of his mind, getting back major confidence I see the Yotes as a play tonight.
Yotes +113

#3 Posted: 5/22/2012 12:00:50 PM Or, the Kings could look at their road record and remind themselves they have already won their twice. They didn't play well and lost to a hot goalie to boot. I'm guessing they will probably focus more on their 11 wins in this playoffs so far as opposed to 1 where they kind of put up a clunker.
I honestly think they are probably relishing the opportunity to go on the road. That's why they call it gambling, though. GL lipps.

#6 Posted: 5/22/2012 12:12:28 PM I really don't buy into one loss being a confidence breaker in this scenario. They have rolled through the playoffs, I don't think even they thought it would stay this easy all the way through.

With a 7-0 road record in the playoffs, the Kings will be looking forward to getting on the road again while listening to Willie Nelson's classic song as a good luck charm.

#9 Posted: 5/22/2012 1:09:54 PM good points by both sides. probably comes down to "Johannes Schnell" (Quick) gegen "Der Zauber Schmied" (Smith) and whether "The Booze Brothers" (Richards and Carter) have sobered up from the weekend.
Kings go bopped by the Canucks in game 4 @ LA of that series and bounced right back in game 5. gotta think their confidence is HIGH going on the road again with their record but NO bet fo me tonight |

#10 Posted: 5/22/2012 1:15:24 PM You have to be CRAZY to not be on the Kings tonight. Those stats you put up are completely useless too....not really sure what you are trying to say there. I know you have 67,000+ more posts than me, so I get you are respected here, but c'mon man...you are on the wrong side here. There was no momentum attained by Phoenix....plain and simple it is extremely hard to sweep a team 4 games in a row, unless the team down 3-0 just quits (see St. Louis). Like Vancouver, the Coyotes didn't quit, but are doomed to the golf course after tonight. |

Just like I was crazy for taking Phoenix last game. I am taking a home dog that has a goaltender that got his swerve back. Just like I was crazy for taking the Kings over the Nucks, just like I was crazy for taking Phoenix over Nashville.
Sure the Kings could win tonight, but give me the Yotes here plus money.
I'll take that wager.
GL to ya.

#13 Posted: 5/22/2012 1:52:33 PM Surely a homer play for me but this could go either way as either of these goalies could steal one.
Rather it end tonight and not go back to la |

I think that IF it goes back to Staples for a game 6, "der Koenig's kase wird verbindlich" (the King's cheese gets binding) |

#15 Posted: 5/22/2012 2:28:17 PM I never said you were crazy to play PHX game 4, because that was the one game I thought the Kings would lose....they don't lose tonight! |

#24 Posted: 5/22/2012 4:16:03 PM Local Kings update-they said they didn't create enough traffic infront of Smith in game 4 and other distractions-they just shot it at him...Mike Penner," You talk screen, tip, rebound and we didn't get enough of that. We let him see too many pucks and we didn't get enough 2nd and 3rd chances..." They also didn't go after the boards like they have.
Should be a brutal, physical, game and the Kings are bigger. So you think I'm on the Kings? Too close to call here...don't bet your house. |

#25 Posted: 5/22/2012 4:16:07 PM Look like the Kings have more than just a tough potential series clinching road playoff game on thier hands tonight... They also have to battle the curse of ButtBill and the Lippsman... |
