#2 Posted: 5/7/2012 3:38:02 PM you go that right, it looks like an easy win for Jersey but may not be..... Philly has got alot of depth and Claude Giroux did score two goals against the devils but he was a -1 each game and they are still got Breire, Simmons, Schenn, and Hartnell, which are more then enough to get the job done

#5 Posted: 5/7/2012 6:39:11 PM I think it's going to be really tough for any one of this teams to win. Might go to overtime.. Devils just have too much confidence and momentum going into this game. They look really focused, have a lot of speed and are just forechecking the flyers heavy.. I think flyers need to play smarter, when they dump the puck in, they need to do it strategically and not just dump it in giving the puck to Brodeur. Too easy for Brodeur, he just sauces a pass midway opening up easy breaks for the devils. Key problem for flyers is they cant get it passed the devils defenders. If they can somehow overcome that and get it passed the red dots... i think they have a shot. |

I agree 100% and posted the exact same thoughts in one of my threads (just in my windbag style) but you said it much more concise.
I shook my head when I saw that the line was NJ(+120) and the Flyers (-140) for this game 5 on Tuesday. I love the Flyers but I have to be realistic... They are not just losing these games to NJ... They are getting BEAT.
NJ has dominated in almost every way... frustrating not only the Flyers but fans like me as well.
I think that the Flyers will play well enough to keep us fans hoping just long enough... until some player from NJ (most likely Patrik Elias) sends the NJD to the Conference Finals with a OT winner to rip all our hearts out. I've seen this f^cKing movie once to often and I always hate the ending.
I hate the New Jersey Swamp person... To Hell with that team. I can't wait for Brodeur to retire and I hope that every Goalie they get after him plays like Brad Thiessen did for the Pens this season... for the rest of eternity. Whatever curse the Flyers goalies have now... I hope that NJ gets it 1,000,000 times worse. I hope they move that franchise back to friggin KC and rename them the Scouts... AGAIN.
Nothing would make me happier than the Flyers winning the next 3 games... and I'll be sitting here watching every Flyers game with my heart in my stomach... getting ready for what I think is inevitable. You just don't know how much I hate for the Flyers to lose to f^cKing NJ again.
2010 seems like such a long time ago... but we still have some hope... just not much left... except hope itself... |

The Flyers have been outworked by the Devils - and in losing Giroux, the Flyers have lost their best player. Sure, there is a chance the Flyers come together after this suspension and win one for the Ginger - but given how poorly the Flyers have played against the Devils the last few games - this is hardly a great bet.
Best of luck. I'll take the over. I predict Bryz lets in a few softies - as does old man Brodeur.

#10 Posted: 5/8/2012 9:09:20 AM What about overs on team totals? Each one is currently at 2 1/2, Devils are at plus $, Flyers are juiced. |

#22 Posted: 5/9/2012 12:21:03 PM Only contrarians and desperate Philly fans were trying to find a positive in the Giroux suspension.
As I mentioned in another thread, all I read since Game 2 was Philly would come out hard the following game and win. It never happened.
Devils were the superior team the entire series after Game 1. Philly played heartless hockey and seemed very uninspired in Round 2. Youth, fatigue, whatever it was, they didn't show up.
