First off...hats off to the Washington Capitals. They played a great series and stayed way more dedicated to their defensive mindset than I thought they could before the series started. The better team won this series. The Bruins showed flashes of passion and hunger...but only flashes. Plus their PP finally bit them in the ass. I am bummed out but after digesting everything over the last 12 hours...I am moving on.
That being said...I really think Tim Thomas has played his last game as a Bruin. The organization was very upset with him when he would not join his team at the White House and asked him several times to be there. They were also not enamored with him when he removed the Bruin logo from his new mask last season. I think it is time to pass the reigns to Tuukka Rask going forward. Timmy was great while he was here and was probably the biggest reason they won the cup last year...but I think it is time to move on. His cap space could free up money for what they really need. A bonafide pure goal scored. Seguin will get there but they need someone for especially PP situations.
Looking forward to many great games down the stretch and hopefully putting more money in the kitty.
