First off...hats off to the Washington Capitals. They played a great series and stayed way more dedicated to their defensive mindset than I thought they could before the series started. The better team won this series. The Bruins showed flashes of passion and hunger...but only flashes. Plus their PP finally bit them in the behind. I am bummed out but after digesting everything over the last 12 hours...I am moving on.

That being said...I really think Tim Thomas has played his last game as a Bruin. The organization was very upset with him when he would not join his team at the White House and asked him several times to be there. They were also not enamored with him when he removed the Bruin logo from his new mask last season. I think it is time to pass the reigns to Tuukka Rask going forward. Timmy was great while he was here and was probably the biggest reason they won the cup last year...but I think it is time to move on. His cap space could free up money for what they really need. A bonafide pure goal scored. Seguin will get there but they need someone for especially PP situations.

Looking forward to many great games down the stretch and hopefully putting more money in the kitty.

Just not sure Boo.  He would be good trade bait for sure and at 38 I think you should get what you can for him now.

Yes you would think the Hawks would be No.1 for sure.  But considering the lack of moves they made at the deadline I'm not sure what is going on in the front office.

Yeah, Hawks it should be.  Nothing else comes to mind that would be a better fit.

Crawford was so bad in the playoffs...really hurt them. It would seem like a perfect fit. What do you think the Hawks would give up??? Do you think Patrick Sharp would be out of the question??

I think the Hawks may move Kane...but I am not so sure on him. I am not sold on his work ethic or attitude.

My thoughts-

-bad move not having thornton in the lineup,
-need a legit goal scorer,ya seguin is going to be good but we are missing that type of player
-powerplay awful again
-top lines combined for 2 goals, unacceptable
-not sure why but team looked so flat, game 7 at home they looked awful, they got a boost when they scored but it didn't last long
-caps played good they slowed the pace of the game down and b's just couldn't get going

Another thing to throw out. Was rumored Edmonton would trade #1 pick for a Nucks goalie. Was never said which one ( Assume Lou). Would they do same to get Thomas

No. Even Brian Burke wouldn't do that. Why trade a potential franchise player for a 38 year old? Oilers would be foolish to do that considering they are not a contender.

Nucks wouldn't trade Lou to the same division. Who was the last big player to move in an inter-division trade? I don't even think they want him in the West unless they absolutely win the trade. Kind of like how Montreal traded Halak to Stl because they couldn't get JVR or something similar.

I wouldn't want Kane.  I think it may end up being a mid tier player and top draft pick.

Wiggins......

The only place I see Thomas going is to a team that has a shot at the cup in the next couple of years.

Hawks makes perfect sense for Thomas. He can't play 60-70 games anyways. He is not a true #1 in that sense. In fact the season he played the most games was his worst. So split the duties with Crawford in the regular season and go from there.

the Blackhawks "blew up their team" the summer after winning the Cup to keep Kane which was a HUGE mistake. first they move Dustin Byfuglien and two others to Atlanta (now Winnipeg). then move Tomas Kopecky and Brian Campbell to Florida. looks like former Bhawks GM Dale Tallon, who now runs the Cats, gets the "last laugh" on that one. he also picks up John Madden who is a bit "long in the tooth" BUT still one of the better defensive forwards in the league AND also aquires former Bhawks cup winner Kris Versteeg

you can call Florida "The South Chicago Cats"

dis-assembling their team to keep a "one trick pony" like Patrick Kane was foolish and has come back to bite them the last two years.

and did I mention "Auntie N" (Nieme) to the Hosersharks? THAT move apparently "ruined both teams"

Sorry about your boys Boo. Was a great series. I had a feeling about the Caps from the get go. I agree about Timmy.

I hope you know who to cheer for here on out now that your Bruins are gone

I am pulling for the Flyboys to win the East. But...I picked the Crowns to win it all at seasons beginning and I also like the Preds.

I am really intrigued at how the next series plays out with the Flyers. I think Bryz was the benefit of some horrible Pens goaltending and defense and I think he needs to be better to advance.

and lets not forget, my Penguins can put up BIG offensive numbers. I don't think there is a team left in the playoff that can challenge the Flyers offensively like the Penguins did

Flyers with Bryz OR Bob remind me of the early 90's Mario penguins where Barrasso would let in 2 to 4 goals BUT Mario, Jagr, Kevin Stephens and Ronnie Francis would fill the net.

If rest is his problem they better get him one of those flipping chambers to sleep in... the guy just gets mentally lazy at times and it usually cost the Flyers in Goals Allowed. He better sharpen his sword and be ready for battle... and if he screws this up... I want him to fall on it.

I am NOT a fan of Russian goalies. Easy enough to question the desire of Russian players... but when it's a goalie you have a serious problem that is on the ice the entire game (unless you pull him... but by then the damage has been done).

I agree with the Pens having the O...but if the Flyboys end up playing lets say the Kings or Preds...these are going to be 3-2 type games...even the Rags. In these types of games...you cannot have weak goals let in by your goalie. They will kill you. I am not saying he cannot do it...but I am not convinced yet.
