Tough loss with Vancouver after picking up some units earlier in the night with Toronto. Looks like Anaheim is going to live by the Getzlaf line and if they aren't going they aren't going to win. Vancouver should have put that game away, but these things happen. Onto today where this card is a tough one although I do like one play. I wish we were given a total of 5.5 in the Calgary/Florida game, but the books put out 5 and I think that is about right, although I am still tempted to take it under. Looked long and hard at that Blues/Preds game too and it's lined about right. Under looks appealing, but there is too much juice on it for me. Both teams have been well defensively and offensively so not sure what to make of it tonight.
Ottawa -135 (1 unit) Carolina started the season with a bang overseas winning both their games against the Wild. They have been off for five days now and start their long 5 game 2 week road trip tonight in Ottawa. Paul Maurice doesn't sound too confident since their return, "Everybody says that it's the week or two after you get back (that's the hardest), the attitude has been good on the ice and they're working hard, but it's just not easy to get a feel for where you're at." As a bettor I really don't like the sounds of that. As for Ottawa they have been slow out of the gates, but a good effort on the road in Washington last time out might be what they need to get a spark going as they come back home. Ottawa has won 5 straight at home versus Carolina. Alfredsson and Spezza haven't done anything so far this year, and if they get going tonight it shouldn't be a contest.
Good luck Sam

Good writeup, SP. Liking Ottawa all day...guess I was looking for someone who felt the same way. Been playing hard, way overdue, had their way at home with Car recently...desperately need a win. Cannot find a dog I can justify playing tonight, which I try to do daily. Thanks for the insights...will be keeping an eye on your plays from here on out tonight. Good luck to all. Lets go Sens.
