You guys are full of shit for hating on my little Marty like that.

He didn't play his best, but it wasn't all his fault. He had several difficult saves to make, lots of scrambles and he was just trying to stop his defense form getting pounded when he played the puck.

Also you have to give Miller a ton of credit he played an almost perfect game.

nj has had a tremendous defensive core- even burke and terreri were excellent or so it seemed - lemaire bought in the trap - and it was the system and defence that did well not marty.
terrreri was outstanding in his day and i would bet he would get the same praise as marty has in his career, if he was the starter.
marty would absolutely reek playing in florida or tampa bay.
this game was marty's fault. babcock and his coaching 2nd.
if babcock complained so much about the goalie then why didn't he pull him after that stupid fucking baseball trick that marty pulled on the 2nd goal.

If the thread title was Marty Brodeur sucked tonight I possibly would have agreed. But to say Martin Brodeur sucks in general is stupid. He is a very good goalie overall look at the mans career stats. If you want to blame the guy for losing the game for team Canada then go ahead. Everyone needs a scapegoat.

I think Canada achilles heel is all that passing in front of goal and not taking any shots. Jesus, just shoot already!!

BLAH BLAH BLAH !!!!!! I love how zero credit is given to The USA for the outcome of the game.  Must have been Canada&#x27;s inability to play a good game that&#x27;s why the US won!!! Give some credit where credit is due.  Canada controlled play for a good portion of the game I will say that, but it wasn&#x27;t all on Brodeur. 45 shots on net yes but, over half of those shots Ryan Miller will stop in his sleep.  It was great defense all night for the US.  They blocked shots, they created turnovers, and really smothered the passing lanes.  Bottom line is they wanted it more!!!!! Canada better get physical and screen the front of the net if they want to score an any goalie not just Miller.  I see them losing to the Russians personally.
