ummmm as a red wings fan i will throw this out to u all.
wings were 4-2 this regular season but as burley stated the last 2 games of season were meaningless games for wings cuz they clinched 2nd seed, rested up majority fo top stars and could not catch sj for presidents trophy nor catch bruins for home ice should they meet in cup finals. so throw those 2 meaningless games out with nothing to play for wings swept hawks 4-0! 2-o and the joe and 2-0 in chicago. the last one being the ass spanking we gave 72000 plus in wrigley field during winter classic.
THE WINGS ARE MORE EXPERIENCED. TALENTED, Betetr coached, hungrier to prove they can repeat again then the hawks.
EXPERIENCE- Otehr then bulin wall who has experience in playoffs let alone west finals>? they are all youngings playing first playoffs. wings have players who ahve won 4 cups and been to 5 finals(lidstrom, draper, malts) and many others with 3 cups and tons of experience.
HOME ICE- Home ice can be huge or lack of home ice be huge against a young inexperienced hawks team if went 7 games.
coaching- babcok has won cups and hawks coach has not.
TALENT- Hawks have kane.toews and havalat as far as greta players. Wings have zetts, hossa, pavel, hudler, filpulla, homer,the mule franen not to mention blue line talent like lidstrom, kornwall, rafalski(who will be back by then if get that far.)

would of been more worried to play nucks cuz of the oh so greta luongo. oh wait he is a sieve and sucks. But should be interesting for first time sicne eddie the eagle belfour was goalie there wings/hawks play in conference finals or even playoffs that is with 1 more wings win.

The Hawks have always been a thorn in the Wings sides. Even the roll over and play dead Hawk teams have given the Wings trouble.
This year is going to be like the Pens team of last year. They won't win it this year, but this will be a huge building block for next year. 2009-2010 season the west had better watch out for them.

i just cant see the wings losing in 4, 5 or 6 to be honest...to lose in 6 means they only win 2 games! so worst case scenario it goes 7..so again -150 is a bargain

wanted to take wings beginning of season 7-1 win cup but find were limited then. regretting that now. 500 at 7-1 = $$$$$$ btu have to settle for 3-1 beginnign of playoffs to win it all. nwo they are 3/2 lol
Just cause the Hawks beat your flames, doesnt make them the best team. Coming off Cgy and Van, Detroit will be a big step up in class for Chicago, while i think Detroit would prefer to play Chicago rather than Anaheim cause Anaheim is superb defensively and will just smother talent. Chicago is more prone to an open game, which suits the highly skilled wings just fine. Just like people thought the flashy Pens would beat them in the cup final... we all know how that went. Defense wins championships and Detroit has over 20 Million invested in their top 4... the rest of the league should take a note and stop overpaying goaltenders and start paying D-men.

Oh i like it to Lippsman at that price! The Hawks beat my Flames and Vancouver yes but they beat two teams that make to many mistakes and the Wings just don't do that. Also the Wings always attack they do not sit on leads just ask the Blue Jackets and the Ducks! The Hawks have not seen the intensity they will see when they meet the Red Wings in the the Conference Finals!
