WELL WELL ITS PLAYOFF TIME ONCE AGAIN AND THERE'S NOTHING BETTER THAN SPRING HOCKEY. THIS IS HOW IT GOES,AND IM NOT SAYING ALL THIS JUST BECAUSE IM A DUCKS FAN ITS JUST THE TRUTH ,ALTHOUGH IM A DIE HARD DUCKS FAN SINCE 95' I REST TO ASSURE YOU THAT THE DUCKS WILL BEAT THE SHARKS,THEY KNOW THEM TOO WELL....THIS IS GOING TO BE THE MOST PHYSICAL SERIES IN MY MIND. J-S GIGUERE WILL GET THE STARTS ONCE HILLER STARTS ALLOWING STUPID GOALS AND DRIVE CARLYLE CRAZY! THE DUCKS ARE NOT A #8 TEAM AND YOU ALL KNOW THAT...YA THEY HAD THEIR BAD TIMES THIS YEAR LIKE EVERYONE DOES BUT THEY TURNED IT AROUND ON THE BEST TIME ANY TEAM CAN! AND THATS WHY THIS IS GOING TO BE A HARD SERIES FOR THE SHARKS CAUSE THEY DIDNT WANT TO FACE THE DUCKS....IM NOT SAYING ITS GOING TO BE EASY BUT IF THE DUCKS SPLIT THE FIRST 2 GAMES IN THE SHARK TANK, MARK MY WORDS THE DUCKS WILL WIN IN 6    SAME STORY SAME ENDING FOR THE SHARKS BEAUTIFUL SEASON ........SAD ENDING TO THE STORY SORRY SHARK FANS.....WHO WOULD YOU GUYS RATHER HAVE ON YOUR TEAM--------NIEDERMAYER,PRONGER   OR BOYLE,BLAKE???

sharks in 5 thanks for your post, but i see you  when this is done on april 25th.

id take either pair, they all have rings there all leaders they all have had good carreers, id say boyle is the best now out of them. if you had asked me that 3 years ago id say niedermayer and pronger.

are you guys all forgetting beauchemin is back?? I have nothing against the sharks it just sucks they play eachother!!! It's gonna be a close one but 5 games leafs1789 cmon man

If the DUCKS can stay out of the Box the give the SHARKS trouble.

Beauchimen will be over-exposed and lucky to get 12 min ice time...Carlyle wont f with a weak link bud..

Compare lines....SJ has more depth...plus they have and old duck Moen!

agree with both Pucksrus and FrozenTundra. I think IF De Dux can get a split in San Hoser they have a very good chance of winning the series. series prices I have seen of Dux around +250 for a #1 vs #8 seed series tells you the books are cautious.
 
I'm playing for the split. taking De Dux game one +205. IF they blow will come back for the 2nd. IF they win, I will just watch.

I give the edge to San Jose but it's not gonna be easy. I would take SJ in 7 and look for a lot of unders in this series.

Johnnypicks  i doubt you watch duck games so here ill start.....beauchemin hit 3 fucken posts the last game they played!!! he will play 20-25 mins a game because he is paired up with niedermayer

The Ducks have 4 good to very good forwards and that is it. They are very thin upfront.
 
They are missing 5 of their top 9 forwards from their Cup run 2 years ago. Granted some of these moves were necessary because of cap problems, but the Ducks could roll 3 very good lines at you 2 years ago.... not even close now.
 
McDonald...they have never replaced him as Weight didn't work out.
Penner....was a force with Getzlaf and Perry, but can't blame them for not matching.
Kunitz...gave them good production on the 2nd line with McDonald and Selanne.
Pahlsson...very underrated checking center when healthy. Who will shut down Thornton?
Moen...another member of their checking line that had a very good year when they won it all. Remember that line also produced offense that year, besides shutting down the opponents top line.
 
That leaves them Getzlaf, Perry, Selanne, and R. Niedermayer from their top 3 lines from the Cup run.
 
Obviously, Bobby Ryan had a hell of a rookie year and helps out upfront, but it drops off considerably after him.
 
At least the trades of Kunitz and Pahlsson bolstered the Ducks back end with Whitney and Wisniewski. Their blue line is definitely deeper than the squad that won the Cup. They were basically Pronger, S. Niedermayer, Beauchemin, and 3 guys that took turns opening the gate in 07.
 
I agree with you that if Hiller falters at all, Carlyle will give Giguere the tap.
 
The Sharks appear too deep to choke this series away, but you can never count on them. The Sharks have a very good PK if they take penalties, but the Ducks can throw out a lot of skill on the PP, particularly at the point on both units. As others have mentioned, the PP is the Ducks only chance at winning this series.
 
I'm not touching the series so I hope for your sake the Ducks pull off the upset.

Have the ducks confirmed a goalie on this one?  I would assume JS, and if that is the case, i want no part of the Ducks.
