#3 Posted: 4/12/2009 7:56:45 PM I'm with slumdog. Sharks are the "sexy pick" every year. Ducks in an upset.

#4 Posted: 4/12/2009 8:27:06 PM Nabokov too good. If Anaheim had better tending things might be a different story. Dont see Hiller out doing Nabby, wont happen!
Sharks in 6. |

#5 Posted: 4/12/2009 9:31:50 PM This will be a war! The only thing that concerns me is Hillar outplaying Nabokov in a seven game series. I don't see and thats why i like the Sharks in 7. |

#6 Posted: 4/12/2009 9:40:52 PM Sharks should take this series because of superior depth. However, I will never believe in this team until they do it. Another disappointing playoff this year?
The Ducks lack of a good 2nd line center prevents them from being very good to great team. They simply don't have the forward depth. SJ has a diverse group on the blue line that should keep keep the Ducks top 4 from taking the series over. I think Vlasic is one of most underrated players in the league.
The Ducks get a ton of goals on the PP. The Sharks have an excellent PK to offset them.
Gotta love that re-tooled Duck blue line with Beauchemin coming back to go with the 2 Hall of Famers and Whitney and Wisniewski.
The Ducks have a proven playoff goalie, unfortunately for them, he went into the tank this year. We'll see how Hiller holds up and if Carlyle will give Giguere the tap if they fall behind in the series.
I think down the road the Sharks will have trouble getting scoring from secondary sources, but they should get enough to take this series.

#12 Posted: 4/13/2009 7:57:05 AM Even if the Shark's win, I think they are too banged up to get past the second round.... This is going to be a brusing series............. |

#15 Posted: 4/13/2009 1:29:56 PM I think this series goes 7 and SJ pulls it out but then loses in the second round (again) because of the toll that this series takes on them. I'm sure glad being a wings fan that Detroit avoided the Ducks thanks to STL, they will be a tough opponent. |

#22 Posted: 4/13/2009 4:25:13 PM who shows up for San Hoser? the regular season "Tiger Sharks" or the usual post season "Lemon Sharks"? seems like every year they go into the playoffs with high hopes just to end up high and dry on the beach.
the relatively low odds I have seen for a 1 vs 8 matchup tells you the books think the Hosersharks are as suspect as a "girl" on Castro Street |
