Things just got a little more interesting....if I was a laker fan I think i'd have been pulling for the Hornets...SA has the experiance, they're defending champs and got it done tonight.
 
i'll also add they are very well coached and play better defense then LA....This might get interesting.

I'm predicting Lakers in 5 myself, if not 5 then 7, but, I'm thinking 5 is more likely. The Spurs are a step slower than the Lakers at almost every postion...except the PG spot. The Lakers speed and the fact that they're clicking on all cylinders in the triangle right now are the reasons I think they win. I think Gasol and Odom will be the keys inside.

I'm was pulling for the Spurs tonight.  If the Lakeshow are going to win it all, I want them to dethrone the defending champs on their way to doing so.

only thing worry me is Horry setting some pick and injuring one of the Flakers....

I actually agree the lakers should win this...the spurs were lucky to beat the hornets, and homecourt will be huge for LA....I see 6 to 7 games though, SA won't go down easy.

If it goes 6 then that means the Lakers win the series on the Spurs home floor. I don't think that will happen. However, I can see them winning 1 and 2 at home then stealing either 3 or 4 in S.A. followed by a close-out in Game 5 back at Staples.

 Robbie you better worry about that team from the "Motor City" before you worry about who the Lakers are facing.   by the way, I live in the city where that fellow in your avatar went to school at (Inglewood High) out here in Cali.     He better play like he did in game 7 vs Cavs for Celtics to move on.    Otherwise you are right about the Spurs giving the Lakers a much more tougher time in this series.

Both games the Lakers won, no Parker in the first, no Manu in the second.

Spurs should beat the Lakers in this series. I think the Lakers would have beaten the Hornets, but I think the Spurs are too tough, too experienced and believe it or not, might have more overall talent. Pop is better coach too. I'm predicting we see at least one great show down where it goes back and forth between Kobe and Ginobili with each scoring 30+.

I say Spurs in six games, and Lakers in the first game. If the public is on the Spurs +7, I'll take the Lakers ATS, and if the public is with the Lakers I'll just parlay Lakers ML with a baseball game.

As a Laker fan, I'd much rather see the LakeShow beat the best teams on their way to the title....

If the Spurs win it all, they would have beaten the Suns, Hornets, Lakers, and either the Stones/Celts....

Their would be no denying their greatness after that road to the ring.


The Lakers have beaten an overrated Nuggets team and a Jazz team that couldnt win on the road.  Now throw in a young NO teams with no hardware, and it would have been the easiest cake walk to the Finals in what people call the "toughest" West in a long time.  Duncan and Parker have always given the Lakers problems and this time will be no different.......

Gasol will be exposed in this series. He's one of the worst post defenders in the league. He's got no shot facing Duncan. The absence of Bynum will finally take it's toll.

gotta beat the champs to be the champs.

this will be all that much sweeter when the lakers get past the spurs; yeah spurs are still legit though. but as a laker fan think of the western conf. teams you hate facing in the playoffs the past decade: among that list has to be:
-portland tblazers
-sacramento kings
-phoenix suns
and most def. the san antonio spurs

will be a good series indeed. go lakers.
