What makes Boston backers think Monday will be any different?
They played good but let it slip away at the end? That's like saying that George W. was a good President until he let it slip away..........uh, about a month after taking office. Okay, bad comparison, but the bottom line is that Boston was favored by 9 points in Game 4 at Atlanta and lost straight up, missing the cover by 14 points. True, they were up by 10 entering the 4th, but they got destroyed in the final quarter, so they get no credit for "playing well" that night.
but tonight they won't let that happen
How do you know this, because THAT would be valuable information!

sure sounds like he is on the cavs but he is subject to change his mind

I agree....This series could be 2-1 Cavs if Lebron didnt miss a layup...if it were 2-1 cavs i'd be on boston heavy...
In this case its 2-1 Boston, and Boston absolutely NEEDS to win a road game to have any chance of realistically winning a championship (i know they have HC in the playoffs but my statement assumes they will not go 16-0 at home in the playoffs)...therefore this is a VERY big road game for a team that desperately needs a road win...even if they lose this game, take the next one at home and beat the cavs on the road, they will still be 1-6 on the road in these playoffs and will not have proven enough.
This bohemoth that 'the celts can't win on the road' will keep growing until they get this monkey off their back. It has to end tonight and the celts getting + points, any points at all, very rarely happened in the 82 games this year (outside of those nothing end of year games with the playoff seeds wrapped up). Its on Allen and Pierce tonight. I also love how Kendrick Perkins clogs up the middle and forcers lebron into jumpers, jumpers which won't hit the roof of a barn right now if he tried. A bad playoff series gives Lebron reason to cry to upper management to revamp the team or he opts out (something he will do anyway) and the "i need to contend for a championship" reasoning will make lebron look like less of a villain when he jets (extreme logic and not the reason for the pick but a potential RESULT if this series goes sour)
Based on this, you take the best team in the league vs. a very average cavs team. Why take the cavs? Because lebron is 'angry' and due for a breakout game? Even if he does, can you depend on Wally to go 5-6 from 3 point range? Too many variables to go against the best team in the league despite the 0-4 road record.

The Celtics were underdogs 11 times this regular season against Eastern conference teams. The Celtics won all 11 games straight up. But then they were underdogs at Cleveland on Saturday and got spanked, another clear indication that something is very wrong with this team right now.

I agree there is something very, very wrong with this team...but maybe its just a "wake-up" call type of thing...after all, garnett pierce and allen, for all their combined years in the league have little playoff experience past the first round to speak of...IM HOPING its a wake-up call...even if its not, the celts impressed me too much this year on all fronts: at-home, on the road, out west etc. and now you just gave me a stat that is quite impressive 11-1 when underdogs agsint the East? wow.
Despite their flaws (and they are very large), this cavs team is much to average for me to put my hard-earned money on em (and much too average for you to walk the blazing vegas "i'll die if i don't get a squishy in the Del Taco" streets down to the the golden nugget or the rio to get a good line off the strip for the untrustworthy Cavs.)
I've walked from the rio many times to get to the strip and not take a $10 cab (that's where i stay). I aint walkin it tonight for the Cavs.
Dont make that walk Bator
Boston tonight...and if they lose...San Antonio is right behind em to reboost my account. These are championship caliber teams GETTING points or pickem's...can't ask for a better spot

scalabrine, that stat is now alarming to me rather than impressive because here in the playoffs the Celtics have failed to do something that they did successfully all year. When a team finally falters in a spot in which they were flawless all season long, consider that a major warning. I'm not saying you're wrong here, I'm just saying.......

Wait a second. Did you just call Boston a championship-caliber team? Shouldn't they have to earn their stripes first before they're considered a "championship-caliber team"? This group has never been to the playoffs together, never mind had any success in the playoffs together. They are pretenders until they show me otherwise.

good point but that game in that spot was an absolute all out balls to the wall MUST WIN for the cavs...a natural let-down spot for the celts as we all have come to know about teams with 2-0 leads in this years playoffs...tonight is now more a must for both teams and that human tendency to "let-up" with a 2-0 lead no longer exists...the 11-0 streak couldnt have contained such a game so i look at the record as a whole vs. you looking at it as alarming because the trend didnt continue...both opinions are legit...i simply have to go with 11-1 getting to 12-1 tonight vs. 11-2 AND 72-20 (yes, that is in the celts record right now) going to 73-20 vs. 72-21...those records are just too, too dominanting to pass up
