My spreadsheet has Charlotte winning this game by a final score of
120-101. The key components in this matchup are home court advantage,
recent form, and defensive intensity.
Both of these teams are playing their third game in four nights but
there is one huge difference: Charlotte has played all three games at
home while Houston has been traveling. In fact, Houston is playing their
fifth road game in a row.
Charlotte is playing extremely good basketball right now as they have
won 6 in a row and none of the games have been very close. Granted, the
level of competition hasn't been great but neither is Houston --
especially playing for the second night in a row and for the third time
in four nights, on the road. Houston doesn't play defense and that will
be a major problem tonight vs. the gritty Hornets.
I look for a spirited effort out of Charlotte and I look for them to
run away with this game midway through the third quarter. This one won't
be close.
Some trends to consider: (I'm not a huge trends guy as some are meaningless but some do have merit)
Favorite is 15-4-2 ATS in the last 21 meetings.
Hornets are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points.
Hornets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.
Hornets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games.
Rockets are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 Saturday games.

I love the Hornets at home averaging 106 ppg at home facing the Rockets team with No defense I like this game to go over in the first half line is @ 110.5. I see both teams running from tip off. plenty 3's being launched.

I was reading somewhere that like 9 of their last 10 games played against each other were under, I'd be careful. GL

I'm on Charlotte too. But, I wouldn't consider it a lock because look at 2 of the last 3 road games Houston won. Toronto and Boston who both had great home court winning streaks. I think Houston can't get lucky 3 times, but I think the game will be a bit closer than you think.

Why I buy these points? Most of the time don't need them. It's just a hybrid bet I often times make. To each his own. Money line is way to chalky but this is a nice compromise that offers a lot less stress when watching the score.
