Why must I torture myself with these ideas? I honestly see this spot as a huge let down for the Warriors. Believe it or not, the Magic are playing better basketball - looking more like contenders than pretenders.
This will be the Warriors 5th/6th game on the road (sure there was a long delay from the 10th to the 19th) and coming off a back to back win against the Heat in which the Warriors were not allowed to rest their starters much since they were playing from behind most of the game.
If you remember when the Warriors faced the Bucks (and lost) it was also a similar spot - tired legs and a team out of gas will not be able to give 100% to a team that is rested and at home. It's a clear advantage for the Orlando Magic.
The Magic also picked up some nice trade pieces improving their team with Ersan and Jennings, those two players should instantly contribute to a rising Magic squad.
We also have to put in the factor that the Warriors will also be looking ahead to playing OKC on the 27th, so the Magic just might be another blind spot like when the Warriors faced Portland and lost straight up.
So the Warriors were -8.5 vs the Heat and only -8/7.5 vs the Magic. I'll be risking my rewards on the 25-30 Orland Magic to cover the spread vs the 50-5 Warriors and possibly sprinkle a little on the money line for the hell of it.
This line I just wrote for no reason other than to say Good Luck if you decide to bet the Magic with me tomorrow. I know there are other games, easier games, we should avoid betting against the Warriors, but what fun is gambling if we don't risk when we see an advantage.

Nice write up. You make some great points. All those things that have crossed my mind as well. But this also has....
The Warriors are champions. They are not like any other NBA team thus we cannot put them into the same category as any other team. I think they have a chance to come out tomorrow and blow the Magic out of Orlando. Who says their championship pedigree wont show up and the Warriors dont do the typical "letdown" right before a big game vs another contender. I know they have done it before this season but I cant say im willing to bet it happens again. Maybe they learn their lesson this time. I have not made my mind up yet but I decided after one of those games when they were 16-0 19-0 blowing everyone out that I would NEVER bet against them again. If anything I am staying away If I cannot trust the Moneyline or GS covering.

I can not resist the game tomorrow, all the rest of the games on the betting board look so average, this one just keeps sticking out to me. I also fully understand not having a desire to bet against GSW, they are the best of the best like you said.

im sorry but im a BIG time magic fan i follow them closely
they do NOT have the defense and magic lacks the superstar in crunch time...
magic is VERY young... how many times in the season have we seen magic lead early in the game? only to lose in the end? or blow leads? im sorry but magic isnt going to win... they will hang close but klay and steph will be too much for the magic...
it will just be a matter of time before varejao understands the offense and can contribute...
magic needs 1 more first round draft pick and another year then they will contend again for the east

Love the Magic at home tonight +8, I know the champs r very very good but i think this is going be a let down game for them. This is there 4th game in 6 days on the road, i see them being tired and looking forward to Sunday's game with Oklahoma.

Warriors struggle with mediocre (they get complacent) and athletic (can run with them a bit) teams, which the Magic fit very well. Plus this is a really bad spot for them. I'm thinking they either lose straight up or it is a close game.

I can't agree. they played tired against Milwaukee because they played 2 OVERTIMES against Boston. If not that, they would massacre that mediocre team of Milwaukee

Ask yourself this question: if the game is tight, which team has the better lock down defense and which team can score easiest? All signs point to GSW. Orlando has shown the tendency to stall offensively too many times. All year they've consistently had 2 qtrs in a game where they score 19/20 points. This has been a pattern, which tells me that they don't have real muscle on the offensive end. If GSW wasn't going for 72 I might agree with you, but being that it seems these guys want to make history, I don't see them letting this one get by them. GSW and under all day for me. GL

I can't believe all the Magic love in the forum. Day in and day out people seem to think fading the Warriors is a good idea. It may hit tonight, but why torture yourself is right. Orlando could be up 3 late in the 4q and I'd be on the edge of my seat waiting for Curry and Thompson to bury me with a 12-0 run in a minute or something.

Also want to add that they had to travel longer from boston to milwaukee as opposed to this game where its miami to orlando...in the warmth...
