Start of with an amount that is just like play around money. Maybe each week put away a set amount for a few months and then use that. Make sure that it is not mortgage, car repayments, kids money, food etc. It should only be money you can afford. No one wants to reload their gambling accounts over and over like a lot of people do.
Bet anywhere between 2-3% of your initial bankroll. Once you have made 20% profit of your initial bankroll, then re-adjust your 2-3%.
So say you started with $2,000, you initial bets would vary between $40-$60. So if your roll is $2000, you would aim to make $500 profit so if you get there, you would then have $2,500. Then start doing 2-3% bets on your new roll size of $2,500. Keep doing that as your roll increases or if your on a cold streak, if you go back down to your initial roll of $2,000, adjust again. It means that your in this game for a long time. Discipline is the key though. Very easy just to bet 10% or even more of your roll on one play which isn't very wise unless you want to win or lose big. Remember, its a marathon not a sprint..

i have a system that has worked 100% when i first started out. You bet at most 1-2 games at most PER WEEK for a sport. So NBA, you pick out 1-2 games you like and cap the shiit out of it. ML spread, total etc w.e it is. I have done this for NFL as well and it has worked effectively. I believe it hit 65%...although it was a very small sample, the profits were there.
NFL, i was around 16-7 one year and 22-12 another yr
NBA was very similar..maybe 58-59%
Later on, once i had a bankroll..i got more aggressive. Swings are bigger now. The best is to not play every day. IT IS HARD due to our mind wanting to repeat the win cycle feeling. However, long term math just does not allow you to accomplish that. But this is the best way IMO..just pick 1-2 games. Any other games, put small action...im talking like 5-10 bucks w.e gets your brain chemical stimulating going. Thats it. But to accomplish and possess that discipline takes time and patience. This is what separates long term winners and the other 95%.

Ive noticed this as soon as I started betting games, won a couple of them and I just wanted more and more but It didnt work. So the OP of the quote is absolutely right. Im picking 2-3 games in a week that I like and it works for me perfectly. You have to have discipline and some sort of money management.

Well I have one bookie at $1500 and another at $1000 so I guess my bankroll is $2500. Not really a fan of betting less then $100. Thanks for the great advice so far.
