Trying to predict what Sam Hinkie and the 76ers do is impossible. Porzingis seems to be the hot name in the draft right now. Who knows, the Lakers might even grab him at #2, considering Randle and Okafor are both kind of similar on offence in terms of their post up games (to an extent, Randle has more of a inside out game). A player like Porzingis would spread the floor and allow Randle to work on the inside. Whereas Okafor and Randle would in a sense get in each other's way. But it could work well also (see Memphis Grizzlies). Randle is very much like a Zach Randolph, and Okafor although very different from Marc Gasol, could very well co-exist with someone like Randle. Okafor seems locked into that #2 spot on most mock drafts but it would not surprise me in the least to see the Lakers take Porzingis or even someone else at #2. I know i would seriously consider it if i were them. Okafor for all he is on offence, where he is excellent in the post. He lacks the athleticism needed in today's fast pace small ball NBA. In part because of that, his defence or lack thereof has been called into question by a lot of insiders. Quite frankly if a team goes small ball, Okafor can't guard anyone on the floor. Porzingis on the other hand is that stretch big man that every team in the New NBA covets. He's long, athletic, and a very good outside shooter. And a theoretical pairing of Porzingis with either Randle in LA or Noel in Philly sounds promising to me.
Towns is going #1. That much is almost guaranteed. After that is where it gets interesting. For what it's worth, DraftExpress has Porzingis going 3rd overall to Philly. But it would not shock me to see Porzingis go #2 to the Lakers either.
