man, 2 months later and Blatt is still in a world of pain. LeBald coming back turned out to be a curse for him and i think he knew it when it happened. i wonder if Blatt would've taken the job if he knew LeBald was coming back? guy probably just wanted a soft landing for his first NBA gig.

agree with everything said above....we know lebron is the best player on the planet but its unfortunate for blatt that lebron is basically a player/coach it sure seems like. but blatts rotation is garbage

Blatt is not being criticized nearly enough. His rotations are abysmal, offensive sets without any coherence and he is absolutely lost on defensive principles.
He has a very large ego, if any of you have followed him during his Russian National Team and Maccabi Tel Aviv coaching gigs. He really thought his preparation in those D-League level leagues qualified him to understand and coach in the NBA. Not so. He cannot "control" this team, as he did with mediocre talent European players.
Coaching an NBA team is just as much about managing player psychology as its is X's and O's. He is failing miserably on both counts. He should have been an assistant in the NBA before becoming a coach. He sorely needed the experience.

fair points. though the Cavs job was pretty close to being an assistant's job before the Lebron and Love explosion however.
you gotta think he would be much happier right now just coaching kyrie, wiggins, thompson, waiters, etc. instead of being in this firestorm.
any chance the Cavs do something drastic like firing him and bringing in someone Karl?

He should do the right thing and quit.. go back to Euroball Cavs were morons in giving him a shot at the NBA in the first place.
He can't control his team... seriously.. how hard is it to learn plays or to teach it to players? Also to use your players skills...systems don't work if your players lack the skills for it.

I suggested this in one of my earlier posts on here, and going as far back as the summer elsewhere when the LeBron news broke and was slaughtered for it at the time. I think this is the case big time.
Blatt knew whatever plans he originally had in instilling a system and philosophy went out the window the moment LeBron returned to Cleveland. Now it's a tug of war between what he wants to play and what LeBron wants to play somewhat, and there's only one winner in that one.
The team is horribly unbalanced, and there is no quick fix to this barring a move or two, especially with Verajao being out for the season.

yeah. and what's probably bothered Blatt the most is how Lebron has basically taken over the huddles and then calls his own plays on the floor.
not saying that Blatt is without blame, but this is quickly turning into a bad situation for what was a well-intentioned hire of a proven international coach.
at this point, i don't see how the Cavs can win a playoff series against any of the top 4 seeds in the East, so i'm guessing that would mean a one and done for Blatt.
Lebron certainly isn't helping his case by constantly saying how bad the team is during interviews and how he's the only one that can teach his teammates how to win. i'm so sick of hearing Lebron's self-martyrdom.

blatt never looked an minnesota tape, where one of love's favorite plays is the hand-off step back three. love hates posting on the block. love never just stood in the corner at minnesota. they ran stuff for him to get shots in the flow. labron's miami offense is failing miserably. all the above comments are spot on. blatt looks lost.

The Cavs are going to make the playoffs, so there is no urgency even if they play .500 ball for a while.
Losing Verajoe hurt, because they are thin at center. I think the Cavs will make a trade for a big man pretty soon.
If they can figure out some chemistry before the playoffs, they will have a chance to get to at least the EC finals.
Blatt is lost out there, but figuring out how to coach the Big 3 plus all the young Cavs is not an easy job. At least Spoelstra in Miami had Riley to lean on for advice. I don't think many NBA teams could run a sophisticated Euro-style offense (Spurs, Hawks) because the players aren't used to passing and cutting.

I know Blatt from his coaching years in Europe as I'm a fan of Maccabi.
Everything you guys said is correct. This guy is ego over blown. You should have seen him acting like he owns europe yelling at everybody. He arrives to the NBA and all of a sudden he does not dare to talk with the referees. He shows he's scared, he shows he is truly a newbie.
In his years coaching in Europe, you guys might have heard of success, but in his Russian team he had amazing players including AK47 at his best, and believe - that was better than 98% of Europe. Plus, Russia was 3rd best in abilty IMO, so this achievement is great, but it's not something that nobody has done before.
At Maccabi, Blatt lost 2 championship rings in his long coaching years @ Maccabi, and I'm talking about a team that has won 25 rings out of the last 30 years. This is a 1 team league, unfortunately. And Blatt managed to lose too many times. His last Euroleague win was impressive, but Blatt didn't made those miracles winning Madrid, and making unbeleivably tough 3's by Bluthenthal, Smith, Tyres and on and on.... This was a team that had heart, but again, this is just one miracle in years of being mediocre although Maccabi has a huge name and fame in Europe over the years.
I have to say, I don't care much for Blatt's failure even though I'm Israeli. His ego is absolutely disgusting, and he smashes players while putting his name with kinda-like-modesty. He acts like a gentleman, but after losses he refused to interview, yelling at the press. He is a small person who was at the right place at the right time.

Cavs are in a bad spot with Blatt because Lebron has already started to break down, so the clock is ticking fast.
I see Lebron having maybe 3 more solid seasons in him. At that point, he'll be the oldest 34 y/o in league history. Then maybe another 2 or 3 seasons after that where he hangs around just to be in the league and collect a check, but nowhere close to a difference maker.

Hey guys lets not forget all of these same things were said about spoelstra and lebo's heat when they first got fired off. now granted i def see less promise currently then what they had in miami, but these guys start crankin out some wins before the all-star break and suddenly everybody forgets about the poor job blatt is doing. Wins cure all

The media over hyped the hell out of this "big three," (surprise surprise) like they're anywhere close to Wade, Bosh and James. They can't hold a candle to them cause Wade won a championship, Bosh at least went to the playoffs with Toronto, but Kyrie and Love haven't even won 40 games in a season yet (maybe wrong, but I know they haven't touched the playoffs).
They don't have that winner's mentality. Kyrie and Love are nothing more than fantasy stat stuffers so far in their careers and LeBron is on the downturn it looks like. Love looks lost out there on offense when he doesn't have the ball in his hands. Sure they can turn it on, but when? Only player that plays with any heart out there is Tristan Thompson, and now they bring in JR with the AR. They'll make the playoffs but they won't win a 7 game series against the top 4. Blatt looks one and done.
