You're delusional if you think Pop or Riley or Phil Jackson wouldnt make things drastically different if they were coaching this team. Talk about a novice comment! They are proven, tested, and have won in every which circumstance with teams who didnt have the number of talented players that the Heat have. I can tell you for certain those HOF Coaches would not be foolish enough sit back and watch without adjusting while their team was getting abused. Spoelstra does it nightly. Thankfully, his team is talented enough to overcome many times when they play up tempo.
Correct, if and when THIS TEAM excels, it has nothing to do with Spoelstra. When they fail, it falls on the Head Coach and best player to find a way. Not that hard to understand.
P.S. I said in my first post they should of had this won in 5 or 6 games. Need to thicken up those bi-focals a little pal ; ) Nice bantering with you. We can agree to disagree.
How is it ever fair to give no credit to the coach when he may be about to win back to back titles, but all the criticism to the coach if he "only" makes it to the finals? Can't have your cake and eat it too son.
By no means am I comparing Spoelstra to the legendary coaches you listed in Pop, Jackson, or Riley. However, you should not be so quick to forget how much talent was on those teams too. Pop has had Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, and superb role players for years. If he wins it this year, it'll be his most impressive title IMO as his stars have aged. Phil had Kobe & Shaq, MJ and Pippen. Riley had Magic, Worthy, Kareem... and in 2006 he had Shaq, Wade, Mourning, Payton, Antoine Walker. I'm sure you already knew all this, but it just shows that this Heat team is not really unlike most of the championship teams in the past. They ALL are loaded with talent and many of them have the best player in the world at that time on their team. I don't know why people still think this Miami team is the most loaded with talent that the league has ever seen, it's really not.
