Louisville (+185) over Oregon State
Dating back to the Super-Regionals, the dogs (or lower seeds) were 5-3 straight up and 4-0 yesterday in the opening round of the CWS. Are we due for a correction? Possibly...but I feel that the oddsmakers are placing way too much emphasis on regional and national ranks when setting these lines. Moreover, at this point in the season when arms are taxed, there's no way any of these remaining 8 teams should be a prohibitive favorite in any given game.
That being said, Louisville is primed for yet another "upset" with arguably the best #2 on the mound in Jeff Thompson - a 6'-6" RH who's 11-1 with an ERA of 2.00. Should Thompson struggle, the Cards have Nick Burdi rested and ready who is known to touch 100mph on the gun. The Beavers counter with Ben Wetzler who's solid but not quite in the category of Thompson imo. Nevertheless, being an elimination game, both bullpens will be on standby due to quicker hooks than usual. In short, Oregon state could easily prevail but in a basically pick-em scenario, I'm rolling with the substantial + value and taking my chances.

BOL Coach, any lean on the O/U for the hockey game at 5? Seems like a coin toss but I'm leaning over.
Real tough call and a no-play for me. 7 goals in Game 1 and 3 goals in Game 2. However, keep in mind that these teams had not played each other in over 1 1/2 years coming into this series...thus the 7 goals. Game 2 saw the Bruins make some real good adjustments clogging up the neutral zone and keeping the Hawks from penetrating the Bruin defense. Rask and Crawford have both been phenomenal in net making crazy good saves look routine. Neither of these two are going to give up many "clean" goals meaning as long as they can track the shot, they're most likely going to turn it away. With that said, I see a continuation of an under-type game and without some "cheapies" or an open-netter, I just don't see these two giving up 6 combined goals. Further, the Hawks' PP has been awful though very strong on the penalty kill trending further to the under...jmo.

guys it's late now but for future references, bet the over whenever tahiti is playing in the fifa confederations cup. next 2 matches vs spain and uruguay and both teams should be good for 4-5 goals at the minimum.
this tahiti team was beaten 7-0 by the Chilean Under 20 national team
to quickly break it down
comparing the talent level of tahiti to spain is like comparing the size of a grain of salt to a mango. big disparity, and i'm sure even is spain rests their starters, they should be able to put up 5 goals on tahiti.

Phi/Was Over 8.5 - Haren and Lannan have been horrible the last 3 starts posting a 6.61 and 6.14 era, hopefully that will continue.
SD/SF Over 8 - Fading Zito and Volquez who have been getting rocked lately. I think these 2 offense have enough firepower to put this over.
Oakland ML F5 +100 - Straily has been pitching well and Texas is cold.
KC -1/2 F5 - Fading Carrasco who has been horrible and Shields is a reliable pitching IMO.
Hou -105 F5 - White Sox on the road are terrible and I've made money on Houston the last 2 days so I'll try to keep the money train going. Stros hit lefties better than righties too.
any input? BOL to all regardless

Cardinals fielding is stinky.
Here is what I'm looking for MLB tonight:

I'm with you on the Carrasco fade. My god...look at his 2 starts this season. Can't imagine he can turn a 180 tonight.
KC/Cleve o4.5 F5 (+105) Billy Butler o2.5 H+R+RBI (+130)

tailing you on these 2 and coach on kc 1st 5 over.
for the sfg/sd over, i actually like the under because zito is better at home and volquez is pitching in a nice pitchers park facing a sfg team without sandoval scutaro pagan missing their 1 2 3 hitters. i was probably going to play no score 1st inning in this one.

So Coach, the play has to be the Bruins, right?
I'm not going heavy, but think the B's will be very fired up after the last OT win. And since I don't expect another OT, I like them in REG +120.....

Hate to say it, Baby, but I do like the Bruins tonight. They've made some great adjustments and have neutralized the Hawks' speed game. They were clearly the better team in Game 2 and if not for Crawford, that would have been a 2 or 3 goal margin of victory. Every historical statistic respecting Game 3 points to a Bs win tonight so I'm not expecting much. That said, I'm gonna wait until the Bs score first to put a small wager on the Hawks at what should be a healthy + value just for chits and grins.

And just between you and me, I did take the Bruins Pk last game heading into OT at + value as it was only a matter of time before they put that game away. But you didn't hear that from me.

Made a little last night, so on a plus streak for 3 nights. Should be taking Over in Wash/Phil based on the pitchers, but both teams really struggling to hit...
1st 5 Under 4 Cubs/StL MEDIUM. Cubs Wood has been outstanding, and gets almost no run support. Cards Miller is pretty good, and they were struggling to hit vs Miami. Granted that was on the road and without Molena, but my feeling is this is a good number. 1st 5 Det -1/2 -135 MEDIUM. Tigers Scherzer continues to mow them down, and O's Arrieta is pretty bad. Tigers hitters should have something to prove after a lousy series against Balt earlier this month. 1st 5 Oak Even BIG. Nice line for a hot A's team. Rangers struggling all around and should have a tough time hitting Straily. And pitcher Tepesch got shelled his last couple starts. Like this one the best.
Looking at Hou right now. Wondering if I dare play them 4 times in a row. GL

ok fellas....here are the picks from a pig.... no thoughts from the sty would be complete without a pig weighing in... detroit - 1/2 - 130 F5 2 pitchers with names i cant spell or pronounce, but i like the tiger hurler better....much better... houston - 105 F5....at home bud norris has been very good, and astros have been hitting lefties well all season....astros have been playing well, so lets roll with 'em one more time.. in a late game.....lets roll with two BAAAADDDD pitchers to get hit harder than a battered wife....lets take over 4 F 5 and over 8 FG with zito facing volquez in san fran... zito has horrible numbers at night and the padres have hit him fairly well throughout his career, while volquez has a really high BAA vs the giants and his numbers suck all over...day, night, home, road....parking lot...where ever....with that said, both hurlers will probably pitch like cy young, as i pull the reverse jinx.. good luck on those plays from a pig...

Know its for grins, but not sure I like your strategy on this one (taking Hawks if B's score first). Call me a homer, but they look dominant, especially at home. If they score first, they'll probably score 2nd too. But GL

Like a few, but it looks like an awful lot of games. The KC play scares me because they give Shields no run support. Of course they are hitting better now, so maybe they improve for him too...
