I honestly don&#x27;t get why the Nets fired P.J in the first place.  THe Bulls played tough and won in 7 games, it wasn&#x27;t like the Nets got embarrassed.  The NEts had a good shot to win that series but blew it.  If the Nets make a few changes I can see them getting the 4th seed in the East.  I liked what I saw out of the NEts but they really need someone that can make outside jump shots.  Not sure if hiring Kidd is a good choice or not we shall see next year.

With the money the Nets are paying their starts a first round exit wasnt good enough, dont think they were looking at P.J. long term anyway, they may not get as far as they did this year next year with Kidd, think he needed a little grooming before getting a head coaching job, but I hope he does well.

Jason Kidd has been a player/coach for years now...he knows the game. Wether or not his players will listen to him is the question. He automatically has respect from his players because of his knowledge of the game. Wether or not they listen to him when times are tough is the question. I would rather have Jason Kidd coaching this squad than Brian Shaw. And I feel when given the chance Shaw will be a good head coach.

We'll obviously see with our own eyes how this plays out. I personally feel Kidd was the best choice NJN had...regardless of the coaches on the market right now

I like Jason Kidd, but he has lost whatever athletic ability he once had and is too old to keep playing at the NBA level.  This fact became even clearer during the postseason.I agree that the outside game needs some work.  It isn&#x27;t that they don&#x27;t have any shooters, but rather most of them are highly inconsistent. J. Johnson and Gerald Wallace exemplify this point. even D. Williams can be streaky.They are only a few steps away from competing with NY and IND for the 2nd and 3rd seeds in the East.

PJ inherited the position after AJ got the boot. He had to prove a lot to the Nets admin. before they were going to allow him to separate with the "Interim" title. He did make some monster moves with the Nets taking them into the 4th seed, but that might have been a combination of the players&#x27; increased morale and work ethic as opposed to the coach&#x27;s decisions. Though it can be argued that there were games that were "given away" during that hot streak.I think the turning point of the entire thing was when PJ was put to the test in Game 4 in Chicago. Nets&#x27; were up like 15-20 in the 4th with a chance to tie the series at 2 games a piece. I&#x27;ll sprinkle a little credit to Nate for showing up, but all in all if the right coaching decisions were made at that time it could have all been avoided. Instead the Nets sat at 3-1, where making a comeback to win would put them in the history books. Of course, they did not.I&#x27;m scared to see what Jason Kidd will do with the Nets. Should be exciting and interesting at the same time though. Maybe he can teach Deron Williams how to play the point. Either way J. Kidd is the only one who proved he can take the Nets to the Finals.

Kidd sure can&#x27;t look anyone in the eye with authority and correct any off the court issues with his players... not when he&#x27;s had several himself.. and didn&#x27;t seem to learn from them...Hitting women (his wife)... drunk driving... fondling women in nightclubs... great example in a leadership role..

I&#x27;m sure he understands the game better than anyone, and has amazing potential as a coach. However, if his coaching system will fit the Brooklyn Nets is yet to be determined.

Very few go from NBA to coach. He must be a popular guy amongst his peers.

NBA is a simple game, so no problem with x's and o's. He will have to crack the whip occassionally. Can he?

I&#x27;m completely lost here on the logic. Great player, and a PG is often called coach on the floor, but coaching is a different animal. I think he may be a great head coach in the future but to throw him in headfirst as a head coach without a couple of years as an assistant to get some experience on the nuances is crazy IMHO. Especially for a team that thinks they are contenders, I don&#x27;t think that, it&#x27;s win now or go home. Don&#x27;t think Kidd lasts too long barring some great luck.
