for each game that is played every night I take notes on the opening lines, closing lines( or near closing time) to track the movement, important to note the lines for both teams(here on covers they show only the home teams line movement),  i do the same for totals and team totals, I also note the date and day of the week.I will track how many home teams have won that night and vice versa, dogs to favs, etc. I like to keep notes because it allows me to go back anytime and see if I can find some clues for the today's matches in past lines, while covers has the lines for the day, they don't have the opening lines from let's say last tuesday for example( i might be mistaken but i haven't found that yet here).I still do my due diligence and look at trends and stats that is available here at covers, also try and read as many articles on the respective teams i am capping to try and get a feeling of that team.My approach might not work exactly for you , but you may be able to adapt an aproach that you are comfortable with.I have found capping is like a puzzle, you can have a few pieces that makes an image but it might not give you the big picture of the whole puzzle, the more pieces you have the better chance you will have to see the whole puzzle!You should try taking notes( you might find other things to note also) for a week and then look at those notes and you might be able to find some clues as to where to bet.I always told myself that the best capper is vegas, so i want to find out where he(or she, don't want to be sexist lol) is leaning.I hope this helps you out a little.

these two things are key!It's like anything in life that you want to be successful at , you have to put the time in, and also have the passion for it.I am truly passionate about handicapping, I come in early to work to check lines and stats, lunch break or any break for that matter i'm doing the same thing(sometimes it gets tricky finding time when you run a small business), I relax at home at night by going over my notes while watching the games, to me it's fun!
