well... aside from the fact that you totally missed the point of the argument when you included "the likes of Kevin Love"... who would obviously not come close to making the roster......

anybody who thinks there is "no comparison" between Magic and DRose does not have the basketball IQ to be involved in this debate... i was watching the NBA when Magic came into the league, and i consider him (at this moment) to be the greatest PG to ever play the game... so there is no "modern day bias" here... but Rose is without question "in the conversation" as being one of the great PGs to ever play the game, and i assure you he creates just as many matchup problems for Magic as Magic does for Rose...

yes, the '92 Dream Team would probably beat the REAL 2012 Dream Team... but anybody suggesting is not "not even debatable" either: (a) doesn't know basketball, (b) has an "old school bias", or (c) hasn't given this enough thought...

There was no mention of leaving out K-Love off the team by the OP. It could've been Iguodala or Blake being left of the team and not K-Love for all we know.

Regarding Rose, poor choice of word by me when I said "no comparison here." I meant that with Rose being on the defensive end guarding the much bigger Magic posting him up.

Sure Rose belongs in the conversation as he can play. The guy is an All Star and is exciting just like AI is in many ways. But still, I contend that Magic would get the better of him on most night similar to how he has done against the likes of Isiaih Thomas, Kevin Johnson, John Stockton. You get the picture, small All Star guards of the time. I don't think there is much to debate here until Rose develops a reliable outside shot. Otherwise Magic would just play off him and let him drive into the meat of the defense. And like I said in the last post, with Ewing/Robinson in the middle, I like my chances.

What the darn has he done to get this kinda credit.  Get a fuckin life Magic would abuse him in 92, if you went to when Magic was in his prime it is embarassing to think Rose has any chance.

like i said... anybody who doesn't recognize that Rose is one of the greatest PGs to ever play this game, does not have the basketball IQ to engage in this discussion...

stay friggin tuned...

and redbook, not only is Rose not the most over-rated player in the NBA, he is actually one of the most under-rated... and this thread proves that... his abilities are off the charts!

What everyone fails to realize is that the 1992 team was actually.....a team.  They were smarter.  Unfortunately Magic and Bird were at the end of their careers.  If they were in their prime, it wouldn't be close.

On the Derrick Rose talk, let's just see if he can stay healthy.  And let's wait until he leads his team to at least the NBA finals before we induct him into the hall of fame or call him one of the greatest PGs ever.
