Their time is NOW if somehow POR doesn't match for Batum. Their team is gonna be sick this year if they get all of the following guys healthy: Roy (possible he can give you 15 mins, maybe 25 in a playoff game), Batum, Love, Rubio, Pekovic, Barea, and if Derrick Williams gives them anything its gravy. Budinger will get minutes too.

Hutch, you gotta be excited, right? Great time to be a Wolves fan and, let's be honest, a basketball fan with Rubio and Love on the same team. These are two transcendent talents in my opinion. Both have such a pure feel for the game, for seeing things one half step before other guys, for having a really supernatural basketball sixth sense.

Wolves are always wearing sheep's clothing in terms of expectations.

They are like the Lions in the NFL. You look at their roster in the beginning of the year and go "Wow! They are gonna win this year," and then when the time comes they win 8 games and miss the playoffs.

I love Pekovic. He is a godsend but now Batum needs to get there first and then they need to play better as a team. Rubio and Love NEED to stay healthy too.

I see them at the bottom of the loaded West maybe sneaking in the playoffs and then getting eliminated by OKC, Lakers, or Spurs in first round.

Sorry, that's not a lot to look forward to as a Wolves fan as far as overall results go with more talent than they've ever had.

I'd be shocked if Portland doesn't match.  They have pretty much said they would.  That still leaves huge holes at the 2 and 3, even with Roy playing 15 minutes or so.  And is much as I love Pek's offense, MN has no shot blocker.  And Rubio probably won't return until the season is 1/3 over and you know he won't be 100% right off.  And you also know the Wolves crapped the bed once he got hurt last year.

IF they get Batum, .500 is possible.  They have a billion questions, though.

If they don't get Batum, this is basically the same team as last year + Roy.

Let's just say that I'm a little more excited for the Wild as opposed to the Timberwolves.

The Timberwolves are actually watchable with Rubio, though.   It's been years since I've been able to say that.

Rubio does bring some entertainment to the Wolves.  DLove, Rubio, Batum and BRoy.....

Looks pretty good on paper but Wolves need more big men.  DLove is not big enough.  He hustles and plays hard but for a 82 game season, he will be worn out.
