#1 Posted: 7/5/2012 12:05:06 AM 2012-13 IS GONNA BE A WASTED SEASON,EVEN MORE THAN THIS PAST YEAR WAS. ONLY THING THAT CAN SAVE THIS SEASON IS GETTING DWIGHT HOWARD AND/OR JEREMY LIN. WE HAVE NO LEGITIMATE PG AS OF RIGHT NOW,AS JASON KIDD IS NOT A DONE DEAL HE IS COMING BACK,AND HE IS 39 SO WE GOTTA GET YOUNGER THERE.
GETTING LIN WOULD BE A STOP GAP UNTIL NEXT OFF SEASON WHEN WE COULD GO AFTER CHRIS PAUL. BUT THAT ALSO MEANS DIRK IS ANOTHER YEAR OLDER. I STILL THINK HE HAS AT LEAST 3 PRODUCTIVE SEASONS LEFT IN HIM. BUT STILL, THIS TEAM HAS NO PRODUCTIVE YOUNG STAR THAT DIRK CAN "PASS THE TORCH "TO.GETTING NASH WASN'T GONNA MAKE THIS TEAM BETTER IN THE LONG RUN,IT WOULD HAVE JUST KEPT US ON LIFE SUPPORT A LITTLE LONGER

#2 Posted: 7/5/2012 12:11:03 AM Cuban gambled on Deron and lost. Getting Howard will be pretty difficult, they have nothing to trade with. Maybe he can still correct that next year if CP3 doesn't resign, but i pretty much doubt it. Karma is a girl.

#3 Posted: 7/5/2012 12:13:14 AM Enjoy the one Championship you had and deal with future mediocrity for many many years to come unless they get lucky one random year and Cuban bribes stern to fix the draft for 10billion dollars.
FYI. Jeremy Lin is NOT the answer |

FYI. Jeremy Lin is NOT the answer OH LIN IS NOT THE ANSWER I KNOW. JOSE CALDERON MAY BE AVAILABLE AND HE IS A SERVICABLE PG. ALSO TALKS OF GETTING BRANDON ROY. THE GUYS WE DRAFTED ARE QUESTIONABLE AT BEST. JAE CROWDER HAS SOME GOOD UPSIDE BASED ON WHAT I SAW WATCHING MARQUTTE GAMES LAST YEAR BUT IT'S STILL A JUMP TO THE NEXT LEVEL. THE 27 YEAR OLD FROM FSU HAS GOOD DEFENSIVE SKILLS BUT MAKES SHAWN BRADLEY LOOK LIKE MJ ON OFFENSE. AND I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE KID FROM OREGON STATE.IF ALL 3 OF THESE GUYS ARE ON THE ROSTER WHEN THE SEASON STARTS GOD HELP US. I AM HOPING ONE OR MORE CAN BE USED AS TRADE BAIT TO GET DECENT PLAYERS |

#7 Posted: 7/5/2012 6:40:05 PM Mavs pg options are: Calderon, Lou Williams, Ramon Sessions. Any of the 3 will be better then Kidd at this point in his career, so don't worry...he's replacement. Tyson Chandler on the other hand is not....as you saw this past year.

Maybe because he averaged 28/11/12 in D-League (which means it was too easy for him). http://www.nba.com/dleague/playerfile/jeremy_lin/ |

Even if Dallas kept everyone from their championship year (Chandler, Barrea, CButler, etc), they wouldn't had beaten Heat this past year. Last year, their lineup was a joke compared to their championship year. This coming year, you can kiss playoffs goodbye. No starting PG, no 6th man. Aging Dirk, VCarter, and Marion.
PHX made some serious youth player upgrades so they will be very exciting to watch. Even the Wolves made some serious moves to land Batum and Brandon Roy. BRoy can easily be the comeback player of the year.

so were dealing with a player who would be considered a AAAA player in the MLB.

#15 Posted: 7/6/2012 4:29:46 PM Obviously HOU isn't looking for the answer with Jeremy Lin for his on court performance, but in terms of marketing, he's gold. See Donald Sterling. |

#19 Posted: 7/8/2012 10:49:44 PM Dallas will probably sign Brand and will be in the running to get Bynum.
What pisses me off is that we have a chance to draft Sullinger or PJII and do not. Instead we draft another combo guard who was average at best in the Pac 10 who is they say is a mix between Beaubois and Jones
I do think that kid from Marquette has some up side. |

#20 Posted: 7/8/2012 11:06:41 PM The Mavs love Rodrigue Beaubois and I think they're putting him on the driver's seat. They probably will get a backup on the 11th. I think more than anything, they are gearing up for the 2013 FA. |

Dwight Howard
Chris Paul
Andrew Bynum

#23 Posted: 7/10/2012 10:41:02 PM Mavs have an 8.2 million dollar trade exception and alot of very trade friendly contracts. they will re-tool faster than people think, as they can now take on salary without having to give it up... |

#24 Posted: 7/10/2012 11:20:44 PM It looks as if though they are gearing for a run in 2013 for whomever is available as a star free agent. Because they are obviously not fielding a playoff contending team this season. As painful as this sounds, they should part ways with Dirk for the right price. They played their hand blind this season, hoping and wishing they would land Deron Williams only to see the Nets and their billionaire owner collect all the chips from the center of the table.
They have always been a resilient franchise, never shy from pulling the trigger on a deal. Maybe all those trade exemptions they have might payoff. Maybe they could even be so bad, that they get a top 3 pick next season. For this franchise, they should be used to gambling. |
