I don't know about that.  I think Joe Johnson is too overrated and trading 5 players and a draft pick is not really worth it.

I think the current lineup of:

Humphries
BLopez
GWallace
JJohnson
DWilliams

And a big man rebounding Evans is very strong.  MBrooks is very promising and versatile green as bench is great!  Trading Humphries, MBrooks and BLopez and 3 draft picks just for DHoward will be a big mistake.  Nets will not be deep enough for the 82 game season...

yeah I'm basing it off the fact I believe Howard will be a net ... I love lebron james but I see it like this. DEron will eat up the PG position. Joe Johnson a known defender who is 6'8 would be on wade. Dwight howard would own the boards. And Lebron would have a tough time driving to the net with Dwight howard down low.

I think that team would match up well. As well you would prob see Jason Kidd sign to the team for the minimum as many other players probably because we will be the closest thing to the nets.

if they add dhoward, the team will be very depleted.  Plus nets will lose 3 more draft picks which would not allow them to have any rookies for a while.  Also, they would need to fill up the roster with min salary players.  Good luck trying to convince a decent player to come play for them.

SWilliams
GWallace
DHoward
JJohnson
DWilliams

Bench:
Evans
GGreen
Gaines
Rookie Karaman
Rookie TTaylor (has really good upside)
JWilliams
DJames
AJohnson

Dude, this is one of the craziest  NBA off season thread that I've seen so far. In 2013 the odds for the Nets to win the NBA Championship are 100/1

Im guessing you haven't been following anything... J williams is gone. Kidd is going to sign on the bench. And why wouldn't anyone want to join our team? Our team with Dwight is a championship contender? Heat have 3 and no team after that.... how is our 4 nice players and a depleted roster a problem?

So Having curry, juan howard, dexter pittman hurt the heat?

the thing about the first round picks is they are in years 2013, 2015, 2017 that is every other year so they can still pick up some rookies here and there

If Howard gets traded to the Nets the odds are going to go down to 10/1 maximum.  With DWill now signing there, they should be around 50/1.  My book currently had the odds at 200/1 which was tied for longest shot in the league for that book.  I had to put some on it.

I can't see Nets win it in their first year of playing together.  Even the Dream Team Heat wasn't able to get it done in their first year.  Give Nets two more seasons at least to compete against Miami.

Nets said they don't mind paying the luxury tax for all of this.

I don't have to follow any roster after the 9th position.  JWilliams is not even in NBA caliber so forget him.  JKidd would be a great addition but he didn't officially say he's gonna be with the Nets.  The same goes with DHoward.  Let's see if Nets can pull something off for him.

Can't wait to see one of these three big (or fantastic four) player gets hurt.  It would cripple the team.  Plus, can these players co-exist?  NYKnicks proved that Amare, Chandler and Melo can't.

Wade knew what he needed to do and 'passed the baton' to Lebron.  They saw that in year 1 of their unity and made the change in year 2.  That equated to NBA Championship.

Miami tasted the champagne and they like it.  That is why they are going after their weaknesses by going after players with deep threats like RAllen.  They would also like to get a veteran PG too.

Paidon, a PG for the Miami Heat is far from needed. Mario Chalmers is more than serviceable. Sure, he may be inconsistent at times but he is one damn good ball player. Norris Cole is more than capable of providing some energy off the bench. The beautiful thing that is Miami Heat basketball is they do not have to conform to traditional sets, the league must adapt to them. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are capable of handling the ball. You spread the court with shooters and have some hustle guys like Battier, Haslem, and Anthony you have a recipe for winning basketball. They are deadly beyond the arc and at the same time can get to the basket with ferocity.

I look forward to many years of seeing Miami Heat haters eat their own regurgitated words.

NETS champs, wowwwww, first off these players have to gel together, you know get that chemistry on the court. With or without HOWARD they will not be champs this year. With the all the moves being made in the league, getting the chip will not be a walk in the park. WOWWWWW some of these threads makes me wonder do some of these cats actually watch the games, or just look for star players.

Sorry, It ain't happening.
First of all they need at least 2 years of team experience
After the Bulls dynasty was dismantled following the 98 season, there have been two teams that have dominated the nba finals and have won the majority of the titles since. The Lakers and Spurs have won 7 titles combined since 99. The Lakers won three straight nba championships from 00-02 led by Shaq and Kobe. The Spurs have won 4 titles since 99 led by such players as Tim Duncan, Robert Horry, and Tony Parker and every year since 1999 have been a favorite to win the NBA finals because of playoff experience.GMAN STOP FOOLING YOURSELF by making up these threads, The nets won't get past the Brooklyn Bridge if that's the case

Let's move back a few steps first:

Nets might not even get DHoward.  If I was Orlando, I would trade him to the West coast just to fu<k with him.  Lakers are willing to take the risk with Howard's mood swings over Bynum's mood swings.  Not much of a lost for the Lakers organization.  DHoward is more dynamic than Bynum anywaz so why not?

Remember when Deron Williams said that he will definitely not resign to an extention with Nets and would go into free agency?  He was just as annoying as DHoward.  He gave Mavs so much hopes that they offloaded everything just to get him.  But Nets was able to work their magic to keep him.  Lakers will do the same if they get DHoward from this trade.  As soon as Lakers make it to the playoffs and possibly the  finals, DHoward will have a new perception.  Lakers fans knows how to welcome a person.  There are so much opportunities other than basketball in Lakers Town.

I still would like DHoward to come to Brooklyn though.  I think NYKnicks need a jolt and Brooklyn Net can provide that!

Guys, is it true that Humphries is the reason why Nets can't land DHoward?

If he is the reason, then Humphries will be the most hated player in all of the NBA.  ESPECIALLY THE NETS!

Last year, only the Nets liked him.

Don't be surprised if you find this guy dead on the street...........
