Well, guess its not retirement when you keep losing.  Gambling has got the best of me.

I know I will be missed during football season, but nothing good comes from gambling anymore.

I can handle a loss.  Like last night, Lakers 2nd half.  Bam, blow out.  Ok, I deal with that, I made the wrong bet.

But, after yet ANOTHER bs loss on Mem 2nd half, just cant take it anymore.  I can think of atleast 30 losses this year in NBA and college alone on 3 pointers with 3 seconds left that killed me.  Just doesnt seem right.  Gambling is tough enough, then Bam, a 3 ball at the end ruins it all.

It happens 100X more against then for.

So best of luck.  No more wasted weekends sitting watching a computer all day.

I just have one last comment.

I see people get mad, complain, and make fun of people who say the NBA and sports are fixed.  Why are people in such denial??

I dont understand why people refuse to admit sports are fixed??

IT HAS BEEN PROVEN!!!  People are in jail.  People have been banned from sports, kept out of the hall of fame, kicked out of school, scholarships and wins taken away.

Why dont people think this stuff doesnt happen???

Do you really think Tim Donehuy(however you spell it) was the only ref who fixed games??  Are you kidding??  Is only one cop corrupt??  Is only one politician dirty???  Wake up.

They needed a fall guy, and he was it.  No, not all games are fixed.  But, when the times comes and Vegas is taking a hit, games are fixed.

It has been proven!!!!

So many people are involved.  So many people gamble.  Look at the athletes.  Jordan and Barkley, two of the biggest gamblers around.  Look at all the athletes who go broke.  You think they only gamble after they retire???  Come on.

Every espn show, every announcer during games mentions something about the spread during a game.  College football announcing is half about the game and half about how the spread or over/under was just affected.

Gambling is everywhere, and players, coaches, ref they are involved.

Yes, when you lose a bet, you cry fix.  But, what is wrong with that???  When some of this garbage that happens, happens.  It seems almost impossible.

Sure, we overuse the term fix.  But, for those to say it doesnt happen, just doesnt make sense.

How can people claim games arent fixed???

What more needs to happen???  more people in jail?? kicked out of sports??  kept out of the hall??  kicked out of school and lost scholarships or wins???  more espn coverage of spreads??  more announcers mentioning it???  more athletes going broke???

Best of luck to you all.

But, those of you who claim sports are not fixed, are much worse off than those who cry fix.

By the way....PACK WIN IT ALL!!!!!   2013 CHAMPS

Good luck.  Just curious, how many people were in on the "fix" tonight?  Got the missed fts, the made 3 pt shot, the non foul at the end...

Seems like a lot of work and which players made money on it??...*(yes i hit under 180 and memphis -1, but have lost plenty of BS endings)

Great post. I'll never understand people who refuse to accept the fact that some games are fixed. I usually don't discuss it on this forum, but it's been proven. Games have been fixed and will continue to be fixed. More games = more money, and LA (biggest market in professional basketball) now has two teams both playing in Game 7's. Ratings will be huge for both.

I know there were two sweeps, but no one really expected either of those series to be very competitive. David Stern can't make it THAT obvious by making every series go 6 or 7 games.

Good luck to you going forward. Hope to see you back at some point.

So I guess that means that a series only goes seven games if it's fixed...no chance that the teams actually are just playing and it's tied after six...has to be fixed...

Come on people...how come we always here about the fix after someone loses a bet, or a series of bets...

Truth is some games in the past have been fixed...but they are miniscule when you compare them with the whole picture, if games were fixed you would be able to tell, just like wrestling and the like...look at these players and games these players are trying to win because that's how they make the big money, not by throwing games for pennies...

Plus if games were fixed, don't you think it would be easy to just look at the games Vegas nedds to cover and bet accordingly...but guess what, that doesn't work...because they aren't fixed...

And that is my two cents...

All I have to say is I am waiting for one thing to happen to know for sure if Vegas has as big of an influence on the NBA as I think they do. There are alot of people out there with future bets on the the Spurs to win the title ranging anywhere from 40 to 1 to 8 to 1. Many people bet this team down to the second favorite. Now I personally did not think they were that good until I really watched them destroy the lakers and OKC head to head. Now I know they are good enough to win the title.

I want to see how this NBA season pans out. OKC and Miami have been the favorites all year. I am not a conspiracy theory guy at all but I do want to see how the refs call the games on the Spurs in the west finals or maybe even the NBA finals.

Good Luck Pack Fan.

Don't you all think the Patriots would have won the last Super Bowl if games were fixed...Vegas took a bath on that game!

Biggest bet game of the year.

Good point but I dont really think NFL is fixed nor do I think NBA is totally fixed. I am just suspecting in the NBA that vegas can sway the refs calls to one teams favor if they really wanted to. I will be watching the spurs results to make up my mind!

And Im a laker fan and I dont have one dollar on the spurs to win it all!

Pitch I think it is a valid concern and I honestly want to be wrong. I really do. Like I said above I am not rooting for the spurs either nor did I bet them. I am actually annoyed I never dropped any loot on them lol lol.......I Just know I have been watching hoops closely for 20 years now and that Spurs team is serious. Of course any team can have a bad game or even series and lose. I just want to see how the refs call theie games deeper in the playoffs cause they are good enough to beat OKC or Miami. No doubt about it.

The kicker is I hate them girl so it is not easy for me to even say what I did above!

I don't wager on futures myself...but if I did, I would have wagered some on the Spurs as I picked them to win it all at the beginning of the playoffs...

Of course I had them beating the Bulls...lol

Now, much to my dismay, it will probably be the heat.

Last comment. Its one thing if they can beat up on the court and lose. its another if they are not getting any calls and lose close games!

In the interest of TV ratings also. The spurs had some of the lowest rated watched NBA finals ever. I would think the NBA and TV stations want OKC vs Miami in the finals as well! This could be taking it a little to far but hey who knows! Televison stations have alot of power in this country!. Big money involved here!

OH! someone is going too pull a BRETT FAVRE...See you come football season, bud!

On a serious note, nice thread...I can't help but think that the HEAD EXECUTIVES of the NBA don't hold private conversations as how to maximize certain series all for the sake of RATINGS! I mean for instance, you had LA hosting two prime time games over this weekend, with one being a game 6 that's now onto a game 7, and the other one being a game 7....HUGE RATING COMES BIG TIME MONEY FOR THE NBA! I realize that MEMPHIS & DENVER have played extremely well, but being down 3-1, I've noticed subtle calls over the course of the games go in there favor, when they looked very suspicious too me! It only takes two or three of those calls a game that don't seem visible too the naked eye to have damaging affects on opposing teams to change the momentum and pace of a game...It really can have a huge swing on points from a couple of calls, and I think both LA teams have experienced that in these past games! HEY if gambling was easy everyone would do it....YOU WIN SOME YOU LOSE SOME!
