wilt needed jerry west, gail goodrich, elgin
dr j needed moses malone, etc, etc
bird needed mchale, parish, DJ

jordan needed pippen, horace, later on d-rodman
duncan neede david robinson first, parker and ginobli later
kobe needed shaq first, then gasol later
wade needed shaq in 06

LeBron had absolutely NOTHING to work with in CLE but still took them into the finals in 07.  look at what CLE did without LeBron this past yr - 15 wins???  they avged over 60 WITH lebron before that!!!

wake up and smell the coffee you know-nothing fools!!

LeBron is SUPERMAN and needed his BATMAN, he was never gona get BATMAN in cleveland, and after 7 yrs of waiting, he said F IT, and now he's back in the FINALS!!!

SUKK IT HATERS

Respect.......Lost.

Not sure if it was the 3 pointless threads in 5 minutes, the "suck it haters", or calling everyone with an opinion different than yours, "know nothing fools".

he said that a 4-1 mia win was convincing while a 4-1 dallas win was not

Sorry, but Kobe won 2 rings alone.Gasol is not a star,he is a joke. It is embarrassing how much you are stepping on Queen James jock.
And James didn't need another Star, but he needed 2 other Stars to get in the finals. And if he lose to the mavs he will be the biggest clown in nba history.

The reason people hate LBJ isn't because he's with stars. You're right with the comparisons.

The difference is all those other people you mentioned were brought together by management. They didn't switch teams.

And they didn't conspire together on their own to join forces.

Or throw a victory parade before the season.

A player who has never been pulled over for a DUI, or punched a fan, left his children, been busted with drugs or committed a crime continues to endure public abuse, all because of a silly 60-minute TV show

He is truly a polarizing figure in sports.

Seaweed.

All the stars have someone to play with, yes ! But, also none of the star player left their team to join the other stars.

I've never heard " Superman " move in spiderman's house and batman join them later on......

This's typical " If u can't beat them, join them. " theroy

everyone is goin to hate- you cant help that. if he went to any of the 'haters' teams they wouldnt be saying a thing. he was unlucky to be drafted to cleveland, because who ever goes to cleveland through the free agency? he WAITED 7 years and they kept on signing average players around him. they seemed to have a pitch at getting AMARE and went for JAMISON due to contract security reasons. there is NO DOUBT in the fact that he would have tried his utmost hardest to get WADE or BOSH to join him in the summer- whether it would have only been one of them. but NOBODY likes the thought of signing 5yr contracts tying them the CLE.

61-21 to 19-63 is the difference he makes to a team. but no individual can win the title all by himself

kobe won in 09 and 10 alone??  one of the dumbest statements i have ever read on a sports forum, EVER

gasol made the all-star gm in 09, 10, and 11.  it's BECAUSE of gasol NOT performing as well in 09 and 10 that the lakers are sitting at home you MORON

read the stats difference for GASOL from 09 and 10, to the drop off in 11 in the playoffs.  THATS WHY you lost, because Kobe did not have ANOTHER STAR

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/gasolpa01.html

what a know-nothing sports moron you are

Noone wins rings alone peroiod... but gridironguy alot of the garbage you said was completely false... gasol is not a star... rodman and horace grant are far from stars... Jordan had trouble early in his career getting by the Pistons... He didnt call up Magic Johnson and Karl Malone, he dealt with the draft picks and minor free agent signings the bulls brought his way... Lebron teamed up with a top 5 in my opinion the 2nd best player in the league and a top 15 player thats happy as darn... but whatever im glad it happened cuz now my knicks will finally be relevant again after the happy behind heat do this CP3 or D-will are comming to NY

kobe could not win a SINGLE playoff series in 05, 06, 07, but the moment Gasol comes to town in 08, kobe goes to the finals

coincidence? i think not!

are you kidding me?  in 09, and 10, ask ANY NBA GM, SCOUT or knowledgeable person - Gasol was one of the top 10 players in the league, maybe even top 7

he WAS WITHOUT A DOUBT the #1 reason outside of kobe that the lakers won rings in 09 and 10

when his productivity dropped off in 11, they lost

anyone who does not realize the importance of Gasol to the Lakers in the championship yrs of 09 and 10 is simply ignorant or blind, perhaps both

Win or lose the Mavs, I will NEVER admit to the Miami "Mr. I give up, wade let me ride on your back so I don't have to take the all important last shot in games + raptor looking third wheel Bosh + minimum wage tag alongs" deserving the championship.

GO MAVS
