BOSTON CELTICS + 8 (-120) - - - I have said countless times during round 1 that I really believe the Cavaliers will hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy this year. I honestly do not think that the Orlando Magic are their biggest obstacle, I think the Boston Celtics are by far their biggest threat. This is going to be one hell of a series. Cavs are not going to get it easy here. Tensions are running high against these two teams. 9 techs distributed during their season series. Including an appearance from Lebron's mama during an altercation. This is the first time in 2 years that there is really no pressure on Boston in a playoff series. They are the underdogs in this series by far. Paul Pierce thrives in situations like this. He believes that has been the case for him all his life and he has used that as motivation. The Celts have the best starting lineup in the NBA in my humble opinion. Their formidable 5 have 4 former all-stars, 3 hall-of-famers and the quickest up and coming point guard in the league. Their bench is filled with 2 proven vets, a bruiser and an array of untapped talent. If there is any team that can compete with the powerhouse that is Lebron and the Cavs...it is the Celts. Matchup wise here is what I think will go down. Rajon Rondo is the ringleader. Boston goes as far as he will take them, I suspect him to outplay Mo Williams for most of the series. Ray Allen got his groove back like Stella in game 5 vs Miami netting 5-6 from beyond the arc and leading the Celts to victory. Anthony Parker will not be able to keep up with the ageless wonder. Lebron James is a beast amongst men. He is arguably the most dominant player currently in the NBA. However, if any one player has frustrated him and battled him toe-to-toe it is Paul Pierce. He matched him point for point two years ago and eventually was the main force in driving the Cavs out of the playoffs. As you all know the Celts went on to to capture the lord of the rings that year. Kevin Garnett is going to have his best playoff series since 2 years ago in my opinion. Antawn has historically had trouble with KG and Kevin should blanket him. Kedrick Perkins is a vital key to this series. He will have to contain a resurgent Shaq on the block and stay out of foul trouble. X Factors are Big Baby and Sheed. They have to provide output that can offset Varajao. Finley, Tony Allen and Daniels have to provide what is needed when they are called upon. If all these players evoke the mentality that I believe KG will set upon them, they do stand a fighting chance against the best team in the NBA. The animosity between these two teams should equate to a lot of foul shots. Cavs are one of the worst in the league at making free-throws, that is another advantage for the Boston Celtics. The Cavaliers are on ATS purges of 4-11 in their last 15, 2-6 in their last 8, 0-6 against winning teams, 1-7 after a SU win, 6-14 after a non-cover and 3-9 as a favorite. Celts are ATS runs of 5-1 on Saturdays, 9-3-1 as a postseason dog, 14-6 getting 5 to 10.5 points and 23-10 as a road dog catching those same points. I do believe the value is with the men in green tonight. I'll take the points. 4 UNITS RAY "THE SPECIALIST" ALLEN - - - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAK'S TEASER + PROP

RAJON RONDO OVER 8.5 ASSISTS (-120) - - - Double R is averaging 11 assists in his last 6 games. He has double digit assists in 6 of his last 10 and has 7 or more dimes in 9 of his last 10. He has already had a 14 assist game against the Cavs this season. I foresee more of a half-court set game which will involve Double R in most decisions on offense. 1 UNIT - - - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NON NBA GAMBLE
This is not a bankroll play, it will not be funded from my NBA bankroll. Just a wager for sheer enjoyment, not for profit purposes. Taking a bit of the dough I made during my time here and having some fun, I am allowed to splurge a bit am I not? Leavin Mombasa Kenya tomorrow so a few new friends are throwing me a peace out bash. Gonna catch the fight on satellite tonight/early morning Kenya time, my boy has a massive projector at his crib. Spliffs, booz, women and fighting. What more can I guy ask for. Making it interesting with a bomb wager. Wish me luck gents.

Celtics will give the Cavs a fight tonight and all series. The Celtics believe they are the better team and can win this series. Wheather they are the best team or not doesn't matter. The fact that THEY believe they are will get me to place my hard earned green on them. There's nothing more dangerous in sports than an underdog that believes they are the better squad and can win outright.
P.S. Love the Money May pick!!. Think he proves he's the greatest this evening (early morning for you)

Hey fellas, great fuckin night. Had a lot of fun. Feel like shit, hung over as hell. Had to fly in the afternoon on top of everything, only a 45 minute flight from Mombasa to Nairobi, Kenya. Still feels like I am jet-lagged and got booze in my system. Finished up the Bucks/Hawks game. Capped and writeup ready. Will post it in the round 1 thread. Looking to dead that thread with a winner. Will post my thoughts on the Jazz/Lakers game here shortly. Best of luck guys, peace out - - - MAK

Hey fellas, sorry I am a bit late. Game is about to start so I will have to skip the writeup, not a regular occurrence from your boy Mak, you know that. Hawks are gonna come through for me today. Great way to end Round 1 in the NBA playoffs. Great past 5 days to stack up some profit. Hopefully Round 2 will be just as profitable. Feeling the Lakers. Utah is their bitch. Hopefully Kobe and Co. get it done today. Will try and get back at you guys in a bit. Thanks for the posts and best of luck fellas. Peace - - - MAK

Playing the battle in the desert tonight. Can't believe I am going against my favorite team in the playoffs, but I think the Spurs curse is going to be reversed. The sun will rise at night.
PHOENIX SUNS - 3.0 (-115) - - - The Phoenix Suns have been continuously heart-broken by the San Antonio Spurs. This team has lost 4 of 5 playoff series to the Spurs and been ousted from the post season time and time again. The only time they beat the Spurs was when Timmy was out. A lot of circumstances lead to the demise of the Suns in past years. We all remember the fiasco with Amare and Diaw off the bench during a brawl. We remember the non stop blood running from kid Canada's nose. Big Shot Bob (Robert Horry) nailing 3 pointers at the buzzer, even Timmy nailed one at the buzzer. A lot of things could have gone differently. Instead of allowing past history to deflate their motivation, I really think the Suns will be out for redemption in this series. I do think this is one of the best, most versatile and stable rosters the Suns have put up against the mighty Spurs. First off the defense of the Suns is not as horrible as most think. In regards to FG % defense they are actually better then the Spurs. Suns ranked 11th and Spurs 12th. For a fast-break high-tempo team that is impeccable. Speaking of up-tempo the one problem the Spurs have is guarding the break, Suns have the best fast break of any team in the playoffs. They have mastered that game and San An will be forced to play "their game" all series. Tim Duncan is a hall-of-famer no doubt. But if there is one player who can match his production it is Amare Stoudamire. Amare has gone 29 and 8, 41 and 12 & 28 and 14 this season against the Spurs leading the Suns to a 2-1 season series win and an ATS sweep of 3-0. The Suns impose a threat because they matchup very well with San An. Vet Grant Hill will have the distinct pleasure of guarding Manu. He has actually guarded him very well this season and historically. Grant is long and very intelligent. He knows Manu's game and I think his size, length and basketball IQ will allow him to deflect Manu's penetration and scoring ability. There are not a lot of people who can guard Tim, however PHX does have the size to try and contest him. Collins will try to hold him in limited minutes, he is large enough to become a bit problematic for Timmy. Frye is a useless defender, however if Timmy has to guard him beyond the arc, it will lead him away from the basket, thus creating less opportunities for Timmy to rebound. Amare may take him from time to time if he is not in foul trouble, and that should be an awesome matchup. Once Robin Lopez returns, it will help the Suns interior defense a lot. Bench play is huge. The last game vs San An PHX bench stars Barbossa, Amundson, Dudley and Dragic went a horrible 6-19....yet PHX still won by 11. I suspect much better output from the rat pack tonight as they should outplay the Spurs bench excluding Tony Parker. In that game the Spurs got a huge contribution from Roger Mason who went for 18 points, his production is just not there anymore and neither are his minutes. Bonner, Blair and even Tony will not be able to match the offensive contributions of Frye, Barbossa, Amundson, Dudley and Dragic. PHX is 34-10 SU in their home whites dominating teams in the desert. In the playoffs they are averaging an amazing 112 ppg and 50% shooting while holding opponents to 102 ppg and 42%. The Suns are on ATS purges of 29-11-1, 15-5-1 at home, 16-5 against the Southwest, 20-7-1 as a favorite and 15-6-1 after a spread cover. The San Antonio Spurs are 1-6 in their last 7 as a playoff dog & 1-5 in their last 6 game getting 3 or more days rest. I love the Spurs, but I will lay the points with the Suns tonight in the desert. 3 UNITS STEVE "KID CANADA" NASH - - -
