I now have consistent internet access as well as satellite installed specifically to watch the games. Now due to the time difference I my not be able to watch all the games which is not good at all. Nevertheless I will double up my research and capping to offset the fact I can't watch all the games. For all those who were here last year, you know the NBA playoffs are really the time to make some major cash. Should be back in Toronto for the conference finals. Wishing you all the best of luck during the playoffs. KWAHERI (Means peace out in Swahili) - - - MAK
SAN ANTONIO SPURS MONEYLINE - - - I understand the reluctance of many to back the Spurs on any given night. But I assure you, the Spurs are going to be a very different team in the playoffs. I know their lack of athleticism and the absence of Manu has caused them a lot of problems. Those problems will continue during the playoffs but I am certain that the Spurs will not loose home court advantage in this series. Mavs will not be able to win a game on the road despite their minimal distance in Texas. The key to the success of the Spurs is of course revolving around Tony and Timmy and I do suspect them to be focused and poised and lead their team to victory. X-Factors are Finley and Bowen. Bruce who has not been used at all during the season will see a massive increase in playing time due to his defensive prowess. Finley is the key to the Spurs success on the offensive end. He has to avg. about 15ppg to offset the absence of Manu. The Spurs are going to win this series because of 2 things. Pop and their 3 point shooting. The best 3 point percentage team in the league will light up the Mavs from distance and win this series 4-2.

PORTLAND TRAIL-BLAZERS MONEYLINE - - - In my honest opinion, this is a team to really really watch out for. They just cannot be under-estimated at this point. They are as deep as any team in the NBA....maybe even the deepest team in the league (in my opinion). The fact of the matter is they are the hottest team in the NBA right now. Winning and covering consistently placed them in a spot where they have home court advantage....who woulda thunk it? Well not to toot my own horn but I did. Posted it on one of my threads...and at that time they were 6th. Greg Oden is not a bust, he a legit big man with a lot of heart and talent and along with Joel and Aldridge they have a legit front-court that can test with Yao and company. Brandon Roy will propel his star status in the playoffs. Portland has won 9 of the last 10 and covered most of them as well. They are a team to be reckoned with. This will be a hell of a series but Rose Garden and Portland fans will not allow the Rockets to win even one on the road which means Portland advances and once again Yao and company do not get past the first round.

DETROIT PISTONS + 14 (B/2) - - - The most dominant home team in recent history is gonna loose one at home against the Pistons....yes sir, you heard me. Loose...SU. Now it may not be the first game, I highly doubt it but it is very possible that Detroit comes out with at least 1 win in Ohio. LBJ and company are on a course to win it all, without KG, my pick to win the east is CLE however ORL will give them a run for their money. The Pistons, although very very inconsistent, are one of the more underrated teams in the NBA. They are also one team that matches up very well with CLE. Sheed, Maxiel, McDyess, Johnson and even Hermann are a pretty decent front court and I think will outplay Z, Ben and Hickson. Rip, Tay, Stuckey will keep this game close with their offense and these two defensive teams will lock each other down in what I suspect to be a very close game. It will be a wake up call for CLE. D Town + 12 or + 14 may be the best bet on the board. D Town takes this series to 6.

BOSTON CELTICS - 6/5 (B/2) - - - Leon Powe, Leon Powe, Leon Powe. Powe is the way to go. No KG....no problem....for now. Leon will excel his status in this years playoffs. This is where stars are born and a double double avg for 2 rounds will increase this kid's stature. Rondo is key, his experience will out-way the rook Rose and Kirk. Pierce and Allen know what they have to do and will do it well against a team that has not faced a lot of pressure. Gordon will not shoot well, Noah and Thomas have no experience in these types of ball games and will not succeed vs the Champs. Never under-estimate the heart of a champion. Champs in 5 games.
